Tucked away in a luxury apartment complex five minutes from Aldgate station, Amber is a Middle Eastern all-dayer, offering a menu of sharing plates. The modern space is light and airy, with bamboo furniture and hanging house plants creating a relaxed vibe. Come dinnertime, the open kitchen turns out a run of delectable small plates, starting with the likes of crispy squid dipped in harissa mayo, and charcoal-baked bread with lashings of soft butter. Next up come more substantial takes, including a plate of warm and doughy pide which arrives stuffed with uber-fresh cubes of feta and spicy chorizo, completed by an assembly of veg: velvety caramelised onions, bursts of cherry tomato and goats’ cheese. Elsewhere, meltingly-soft pork belly is topped with crispy crackling and bitter bundles of kimchi, while for dessert, there are daily-changing options from the kitchen, or you can opt for a slice of homemade cake from the counter.

Group Dining 8 Plus | Breakfast

Tucked away five minutes from Aldgate station, Amber is a Mediterranean & Middle Eastern
all-dayer. The modern space is light and airy, inspired by a Midsummer garden with Olive ash award winning furniture, hanging house plants, wall mounted terracotta planters and globe pendant lights to large-scale round mirrors. The blend of raw finishes, basic materials and simple shapes make for a sophisticated feel and creates a relaxed vibe. Amber is staying true to the philosophy of eating around the Middle East & Mediterranean, where dining is an experience to be shared with friends, family, lovers, something that brings you closer together and reminds us of the real meaning of breaking bread.

A flavourful and satisfying brunch experience! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I had the zucchini fritters, which had an authentic taste and were just delicious. I loved the atmosphere and vibe of the place.

Loved my dinner for one at the Chef's corner. All staff very kind, helpful and fun. A true pleasure being front row with view on the great cooks working together seamlessly. All dishes prepared with much love and care resulting in true works of art. And the flavours just amazing. Thank you very much for having me. Looking forward to more to come whenever I am around. 🙏

Recommended by a local to try out the dishes here, had high hopes but weren’t particularly impressed by the execution except for the french toast. Of course, it may be that the taste of these dishes just didn’t suit our fancy. All the savoury breakfast dishes were heavily seasoned for us (being the first thing you eat in the morning) other than the dish with the kale salad. That at least had the freshness and citrusy of the vegetable and dressing to cut through the richness and creaminess. We were thankful that we ordered the french toast as it really helped changed up the taste with the sweetness of the fruits and crunchiness of the toasted bread. Matcha latte also needed much improvement but I understand that it’s not a Japanese restaurant so… Overall, I’d re visit to try other dishes but would hope for a more welcoming, more efficient hospitality next time.

Booked with 3 friends for a total of 4 people. We were recommended that each of us orders about 3 dishes small/medium per person. We ordered a small plate or two and then all medium dishes including the sides. Starting with the atmosphere, this was more of a quiet date vibe, as opposed to I'll have a meal with some friends and chat. I noticed some people may have been disturbed by us talking in a relatively normal volume (sorry 😅). The flat iron steak was cooked medium by default and was paired excellently with their sauce and the smoked potatoes side. Likewise for the lamb, a delicious dish that was moist and pulled apart like butter. Highly recommended as center dishes so everyone can have a bite. The rest of the dishes were tasty but not too noteworthy. The only thing to mention is that the breads (at least the corn bread) are of small portions. We ordered one corn bread as it was mentioned this was not considered a full dish, hence assumed it would come for the whole table, but a single slice came. Shout Out to Asyak who was our server with a smile, keep it up! The staff can make or break a restaurant experience.

The dishes at this restaurant don't match the pictures, and the fish we saw on Google Maps isn't on the menu. So, friends planning to dine here, please take note. Additionally, their 'big plate' is overpriced and literally just a large plate with very little food. This restaurant offers poor value for money. Also, the lamb has a strong taste, so friends who dislike that flavor should avoid ordering it. I rarely write reviews after dining, but the service at this restaurant was exceptionally poor. A female server had a sour expression the whole time, as if I owed her two million pounds. Moreover, as soon as we finished eating, she rushed to clear the table, as if she wanted us gone. We've dined in Scotland a few days ago and at a Malaysian restaurant in London yesterday, and this restaurant has by far the worst service. So it really doesn’t deserve the 12% service fare. I don't understand how it has such high ratings.
