The Underglobe is a spectacular evening events space located at the iconic cultural landmark Shakespeare’s Globe, on the banks of the Thames.
This award-winning corporate events venue features a prestigious location, a private riverside entrance, and can host events for 120 to 425 guests. With an experienced team available to deliver your perfect event, this atmospheric space is the ultimate choice for awards dinners, receptions and evening high-tech conferences. From glittering seated award ceremonies to stunning standing Christmas parties, the Underglobe can do it all.
Our Creative Production and AV partners will work with you to design and deliver tailored experiences. The possibilities are endless with our spectacular, newly installed, projection mapping visuals. We work with creative entertainment companies, DJ’s and live bands to ensure your event is the best it can be. Private tours of Shakespeare’s Globe can be arranged, subject to availability.
Executive Chef, Cedric Tourainne, and his experienced brigade create stylish, delicious, sustainable menus for our parties and events. The Underglobe is part of the Swan bar, restaurant, and private dining rooms so you can expect restaurant quality food, wine and service at your event.
Inspired by exceptional British ingredients, Cedric’s menus change with the seasons and use produce sourced from British farmers, south-coast fishermen and local artisan suppliers.

March 2024What a wonderful afternoon tea experience! Nothing was too much trouble, great selection. Scones so buttery little sweet treats fresh and hitting so many flavours. Amazing tea selection. Beautifully presented. Will be back for sure, without children hopefully.

February 2024Wonderful Sunday Roast with Spectacular Views! We visited this restaurant for a Sunday Roast, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the River Thames that truly enhance the dining atmosphere. The decor is stunning, adding to the overall charm of the place. The highlight, of course, was the Sunday roast itself. The food was cooked to perfection, with generous portions and delicious flavours that left me completely satisfied. But what truly sets this place apart is the staff - they were absolutely brilliant! Friendly, attentive, and always ready to accommodate any request. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be returning soon!

March 2024We went to the Swan (next to the Globe) for afternoon tea. The young gentleman on the desk was able to bring our table forward an hour and was friendly and helpful. Our table was on the top floor, in front of the french doors that opened onto the balcony overlooking the Thames. It really was a wonderful view. The service we received was great. The food was delicious ( The Duchess of Malfi afternoon tea). Fresh sandwiches, home made scones and the delicious sweet bites were all heavenly. Special mention to the tea, I had English breakfast and my husband was adventurous and tried the Dragon well green tea. He thoroughly enjoyed it. To round off a really enjoyable time, I was presented with a lovely happy birthday plate which again was delicious. Thank you for making my birthday extra special!

March 2024Came here after our Globe Theatre Tour. We asked to be seated sooner as our tour ended earlier than expected & they were able to accommodate. It was a nice little treat during our stay! The service was friendly & the atmosphere was very bright and warm. There were 2 options for the high tea food (we got the Classic) and multiple options for tea. The bottom tier is refillable (sandwiches, ceasar salad & tart) along with the clotted cream and jam for the scones. It was quite filling considering! Overall, it was cute and fun!

April 2024The food was pretty and the location had great views, especially if you're on the 1st floor or higher. I would recommend booking ahead of time since it seems pretty busy. We had a reservation around lunchtime for 4 people and were seated and served relatively quickly. Unfortunately the service was a little strange. One of us had ordered a pot of I think Herbal Orange something tea and then had been served something different. Okay, no prob small mistake— we let the waitress know, and she leaves with the pot only to... come back and give us the same pot of incorrect tea??? And then tells us that her manager said that we ordered this. Uh, incredibly strange behavior. So we called her over again after a few minutes and said, "Hey, can we just get what we ordered", and eventually after having to check in with her higher ups (like why? It's your mistake and we had to even ask you twice, what do you mean you have to check with someone else 🙃), they finally just gave us the right pot of tea. Truly a deranged moment, acting as if we couldn't tell what you served us was not what we ordered. Also, the bathrooms were pretty cute. You can take the Uber boat directly here by the way, since the dock is right in front.
