This is a place I had almost forgotten about as it is slightly off the beaten track when you are thinking of somewhere nice to eat. I visited it recently with my family and we had a very good experience and a delicious meal. Would recommend to anyone that is prepared to walk a few more steps outside the usual catchment area of city centre eateries.

Myself and my partner spent a couple of days in Northern Ireland and we chose the Malmaison in Belfast as our base. It is centrally located and close to all transport links. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful historic building on a busy road, but we were in one of the rooms towards the back, so we were not affected by the noise. A pity there wasn’t air conditioning in our room as it gets quite hot and stuffy during these summer days. The staff were absolutely lovely too.

Really nice facilities, but understaffed. I experienced delays in all my dealings with staff (though they were very friendly and helpful when I got them). Lost stars as the breakfast was depressing. All buffet items are individually cling filmed, which is an environmental nightmare. It makes no sense, as someone touched the food to wrap it, and people were still touching all the items at the buffer. Table service would be a safer and less environmentally damaging option

Reception staff weren't very friendly and don't really acknowledge you. Bar man was friendly. Room was okay but nothing like the pictures online. Decor was completely different and not very nice. Decent size though and bathroom was nice. Toiletries smell amazing and cleaning staff did a great job. Good location- very central for shopping, bars and restaurants.

Not very impressed. Lighting in the room and public areas was very low level which I'm sure is great if you have a migraine but to find anything in your case or do work etc. Not good. Also slightly more alarmingly and the reason for this low rating was that there was far too much of the previous occupants hair in my room for my liking, I travelled for work and know that some I travelled with experienced this issue also.
