Beautiful hotel and decor. Staff helpful and friendly. However, if you are looking for a nice relaxing break and a nights sleep, you may not get it here. Loud music from the clubs/bars close by and street noise kept us up into the early hours. Biggest issue for us was that we were not informed of this prior to or during check in. Expected that at the very least from a hotel with a five star rating and five star prices.

Famous luxury hotel in the heart of Belfast. Brilliant for lunch and business meetings, lovely for a weekend break. Clubs, bars and restaurants within reach. Bring some extra cash( posh place= more expensive).

A fantastic Afternoon Tea is the ultimate treat at the Merchant. Unbelievable service from every pleasant staff member. Add the live, relaxing music and luxurious decor. It couldn't get any better. Plus, if you cannot eat all, the waiter offers a take out box to bring the remainder of your goodies home with you. Special dietary needs catered for also.

Having only had a surprise mother and daughter spa and hydrotherapy session I can't comment on the hotel too much...however on chatting to a group of ladies who often stay there it will be my next stay when in Belfast again. But the spa is well worth a visit...so friendly so relaxing so individually tailored to your needs. Beautiful experience.

Beautiful surroundings. Historic buildings. Christmas decor really lovely. Service excellent. However price does not justify 3 tiny scones plus 3 cups tea £17.50. Too pricey. Special occasion only!
