Where to Host Your Next Event: The Best Battersea Venues
Battersea used to be one of those areas that looked close on a map but felt like a trek to actually get to. That changed when the Northern Line extension opened, putting a new Zone 1 station right at Battersea Power Station. Add Battersea Park and Queenstown Road stations nearby, plus river bus services and the Uber boat, and it's now one of the easiest parts of South West London to bring a team to.
The Power Station itself has gone from derelict landmark to one of London's busiest event destinations, with food halls, activity bars, restaurants and historic event spaces all within a few minutes' walk of each other (there’s even the brand new Apple Music Hall). Whether you're planning a Christmas party, a team social or a full conference, Battersea is worth a serious look.
The Best Venues Around Battersea Power Station
Arcade Battersea Power Station
Arcade is a food hall inside the Power Station with 13 global kitchens and 2 feature bars, which solves the classic "what do we feed everyone" problem for big groups. Full venue hire takes up to 800 guests standing or 250 seated, and it works for anything from awards nights and conferences to Christmas parties and canapé receptions. Minimum spend starts from £20,000.
Best for: large company parties where guests want plenty of food choice.
Birdies Battersea
If you want an activity rather than just drinks, Birdies is a crazy golf and cocktail bar in the railway arches next to the Power Station. Exclusive hire fits up to 160 guests and gives you the course for as many rounds as you like. You can book daytime (12pm to 5pm) or evening slots, and they'll put together a bespoke package for team days, summer parties and Christmas parties. It's about a five minute walk from the nearest station.
Best for: team socials that need a bit of friendly competition.
Control Room A
This is the original 1930s control room that once ran the Power Station, and it's been restored with its switchboards, control panels and Art Deco glass ceiling intact. It holds up to 220 guests and the setting does most of the work for you, so you won't need to spend much on styling.
Best for: awards dinners, receptions and brand launches where the room needs to impress.
Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea
Set in one of the Power Station's railway arches, Cinnamon Kitchen serves Vivek Singh's modern Indian cooking from an open kitchen. You can hire the whole restaurant, or book the private mezzanine room overlooking the dining room. There's also a semi-private chef's table and an outdoor terrace for smaller groups.
Best for: client dinners and leadership team meals.
art'otel London Battersea Power Station
This hotel has art in every room, and its event spaces range from small meeting rooms to larger conference setups, all with modern AV and a dedicated events team. The real draw is the rooftop pool and bar, which makes it easy to run a meeting or conference during the day and move everyone upstairs for drinks with views across London afterwards.
Best for: conferences and offsites that end with rooftop drinks.
Battersea Brewery
Battersea Brewery's taproom pours beer piped straight from the brewery tanks on site. They host groups from 2 to 200, with an exclusive top deck for larger bookings and whole venue hire for up to 150 guests from a £3,000 minimum spend. Groups of up to 15 can also book a tour of the working brewery followed by a tasting.
Best for: relaxed team drinks, or a brewery tour for a small team.
Evolution London
Evolution London is a large blank canvas venue in Battersea Park built specifically for events. Resident caterers Moving Venue handle the menus and technical partner Encore is on site with a pre-installed production package, which takes a lot of the supplier wrangling off your plate. It's used for awards ceremonies, conferences, product launches, film premieres and fashion shows.
Best for: large-scale productions that need serious AV and space to build a set.
Just a Short Walk Away
Mondo Brewing Company
A short walk from the Power Station, Mondo's Tap House has 15 keg taps, including beers you can only get there. Big glass panels in the wall give you a clear view straight into the brewery while you drink.
Best for: casual team drinks for beer lovers.
Worth the Trip: Battersea Arts Centre
Battersea Arts Centre
Up on Lavender Hill near Clapham Junction, Battersea Arts Centre is a bit further from the river but has some of the most flexible space in the area. The historic building holds up to 800 standing, 500 theatre style or 350 cabaret, with a Grand Hall for big events and smaller rooms like the Council Chamber (up to 200) and the self-contained Lower Hall Suite, which has its own private entrance. External catering is allowed, and booking here supports the centre's theatre and community programmes.
Best for: conferences, away days and gala dinners with a bit of character.
