If your next private event is 1) large scale and 2) based in the West Midlands, you’ve stumbled upon the perfect blog post.
Booking a venue for an event which lots of people will attend can seem intimidating. There’s a lot at stake and plenty of things to factor in. But we’ve put together a round-up of large venue spaces to hire in Birmingham (or close by, at least) that’s here to take some of the stress away.
From cool open-air spots to enormous blank-canvas warehouses, here are a handful of Birmingham venues for hire with a large capacity.
Based only a few minutes from the city centre, Digbeth Arena is right up there among the best party venue hire options in Birmingham. It’s a versatile and open-air space beside Brum’s Victorian railway arches, where revellers come to dance to live music and leading business minds share their thoughts at regular conference events. The Arena’s impressive infrastructure makes it a hit with corporate organisers, with anywhere up to 3,500 people able to attend events at this substantial 12,000 sq ft space. More details here.
There’s lots of room for manoeuvre at The Hangar. Formerly a steel manufacturing warehouse, it’s now a 17,000 sq ft event space in Wolverhampton that can host corporate events for up to 2,000 people. Decked out in a warehouse style, The Hangar benefits from top-of-the-range sound, lighting and visual technology, with a stage complete with a 12m LED screen. It’s a blank canvas for you to take whichever direction you see fit, with several bars, street food outlets and an outdoor smoking terrace for good measure. More details here.
Will there be live music at your event? The Mill could be an option if so. It’s a flexible performance and event venue in Digbeth, which really comes in to its own hosting larger corporate functions – it’s got a capacity of up to 1,300. The Mill has a mezzanine-level warehouse and vast ceilings, and the events team here can create a bespoke event to neatly fit with all of your requirements. More details here.
You’ll probably know Revolucion De Cuba first and foremost for its Latin cocktails, tapas and lively vibes. It’s also a handy spot for a private event, with their Havana Bar hosting all types of different functions for up to 330 on the first floor. Inject a little Cuban flair in to your event right around the corner from New Street station; the Havana Bar has a private bar, a projector, screen and even enough space for a conference-style set-up. More details here.
Located within a 10-minute walk of Jewellery Quarter station is Life Community Church, a hire space ideally matched to meetings and conferences. There’s free parking and all rooms are wheelchair-friendly, making this a really accessible venue space with a capacity up to 350. The Church benefits from a large stage and there’s free tech support should you need it. Complimentary flip charts, a white board and markers are available, and the venue can lay on tea, coffee and snacks for a small extra cost. More details here.
