Passing through the country lanes of Cheshire you can view the Castle on top of the Peckforton Hills from quite a distance away, be it that the surrounding forest hides all but a small part. As you turn off the lane and pass through the magnificent gate house, your journey is almost complete but the amazing experience continues. The meandering driveway takes you through the forest which in itself is of special scientific interest and then suddenly through the trees appears a large but beautiful fairytale castle. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century the Hotel is the only intact medieval style Castle in the country. Over the years the Castle has been the location for numerous movies including Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, Dr Who and more recently Coronation Street. The stunning exterior has now been complimented by a lovingly refurbished interior which houses 48 bedrooms and truly magnificent entertaining rooms.
Peckforton Castle holds monthly open evenings given you the opportunity to meet with our wedding coordinators and view the castle function rooms beautifully dressed. Please see our events calender on our website for further details

It looks like a castle and feels like a castle but wast built in the 1850s and is now a great hotel at the end of a very long drive. Its a shame access to the grounds is insufficient to get the full view but the inside vista is super. We visited just for one night to complement an afternoon tea our daughter gave us. The afternoon tea was very good but dinner was really good, great atmosphere in the restaurant, grest food and great staff. Although the restaurant prices were as you would expect for the location and quality I thought the wine prices (>£30/bottle) were a little excessive: I am not an expert but the wine was nothing special. Our room was large but a little dark as the windows were small, it is a castle after all. The room itself was very comfortable and well appointed and gave us a good night's sleep. Overall a great night and well worth a visit, especially if you can get a deal. I think we will visit again

Brought my mum and nan here for mother's day. Enjoyed a delicious three course meal and at £35 per person honestly wasn't expecting anything great, however the food was delicious. Both mum and nan absolutely loved it, waiters were on point, super friendly and very quick to fill my nans glass which she loved. Couldn't fault our experience, will certainly be back again next time they have an event.

Lovely place with good food. A bit isolated, so you would need to use your car if you wanted to visit a local pub, there's not a great deal of atmosphere we found so ideal for those who seek a quiet break.

Afternoon tea was enjoyable they could do with fixing some of the small points though and attention to detail. Food was very nice as were the drinks however we were given desert spoons to stir our tea because ‘we have run out of tea spoons’. Struggled to get waitresses attention for drinks, cutlery was dirty and we were missing a cup off the table ans had to ask. However, scones were lovely and the location is breathtaking. Could be one of the best with a little attention to detail.

The location and actual building from the outside looks great, unfortunately the staff seem to be very young and inexperienced. We ordered room service for 2 people, only one arrived and they suggested we only ordered 1. At an absolute push we got £10 off, if they admitted to their error and refunded the meal as we had to eat late and separately it would have made the difference.
