It's a lovely old house in beautiful countryside. I expected to pay a lot for my drinks and food. But I then expect exemplary service, great food and not to be overcharged. Getting a drink in the bar proved impossible despite several attempts at attracting a waiter. At the table (we were a party of 8) my first drink eventually arrived but was the wrong thing. The food was good but not amazing - we chose the taster menu, for which read small and uninspiring. But we all enjoyed the evening - until the bill arrived and we were charged for 16....... that's simply not acceptable! So I won't be rushing back thank you.

My boyfriend booked our brief stay as a surprise, and I spent the whole time convinced he'd secretly won the lottery! The house and gardens are beautiful, the staff friendly and accommodating and our room was spacious, well laid out and very comfortable. The dinner was exquisite, the steak was a masterpiece, half sirloin, half fillet and you could really appreciate the difference in flavour of each. I have a dairy intolerance and every member of staff knew this before I sat down and were ready to help with any questions I had (the service was in this sense much better than the Michelin star restaurant we went to for our last anniversary). I really can't wait to come back for a longer stay!

Lovely wedding venue, probably the nicest I've been to in my relatively short amount of years. The staff really made you feel like royalty

Such a beautiful setting for our friend's Wedding! The staff were phenomenal and whilst I can only remember Malcolm and Lewis' names, all of the waitresses and waiters, Reception staff etc. were incredibly polite and helpful and equally deserving of praise. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. Myself and my Partner wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Thank you for an incredible day and night, we really wish we could have stayed longer.
