Rooms a bit tired, damp on external walls, ceiling paper peeling. Beds comfortable and heating working albeit a little too hot. Parts of hotel very dated with fading carpets, tape holding carpet down. Swimming pool good although changing rooms more like a boarding school. Restaurant service very poor despite being quiet, food average and over priced. Breakfast much better although surprised to find they ran out of a number of things because it was a bank holiday after a busy weekend. Wedding party very loud as close to bedroos and no advice from reception that this might be the case. Surprised this hotel has 4 star as felt closer to budget offering but I guess if you tick a few boxes it is easy to achieve. Staff generally helpful an friendly, particularly at breakfast. Probably would not stay again unless there was a very good deal to make it worthwhile. Location good for Safari park but am sure there are other hotels and b&b that would beat it.

Unfortunately, this is a hotel that is struggling. It is tired and it is lacking in many areas. The staff were pleasent but this isn't enough. The bar and reception are not manned sufficiently. Our own experience of the food, overall was very disappointing. The room we stayed in requires updating. The hotel also lacked atmosphere. Near the reception area is a room with a TV and piped music at the same time? This remained the same for our five night stay. What are they thinking. On the positive side, the gym was of a good standard, however I would be unable to recommend this hotel and would suggest a urgent review of its current grading.
