This was our first visit to a lovely hotel which is full of character in a very scenic location. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful, the room we had was large and well equipped, and we loved the food and drink options in the bar and restaurants. There was plenty of on-site parking which was also free. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and we are planning to stay here again in future

Lovely Country Escape with a Few Quirks The Limpley Stoke Hotel is a beautiful old building nestled in the rolling Bath countryside – perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our room was spacious with stunning views from the balcony, and we loved the free parking. Good value for the price, and the staff were all welcoming. While the confusing bathroom sign was a bit funny, the less-than-ideal shower temperature (a tiny bit too cool for my liking) and the pricey breakfast (especially with limited vegan options) were the real downsides. Ultimately, it was still a great stay, and we'd likely return.

The area and the hotel building are visually stunning. The service we received was great and couldn't be faulted. Breakfast is served buffet style and the options were plentiful. The lounge and bar areas were tastefully decorated respecting the age of the building however the rooms could do with modernising. Finally it is worth noting that due to it's location there is the need to travel to find restaurants or shops as there are none nearby.

A big building that's a little past its prime. Our room was newly decorated and perfectly adequate, but quite sparse. Tea making kit was generous, but why fill the mugs with milk pods? Have a separate container for those things. I'm not suggesting that the pods were dirty, it's just that you don't put something in my mug. It's for drinking, not storing! The location was fine, car parking plentiful and so on. We didn't eat here, but did grab a nightcap in the bar. Service was friendly enough, but there's something missing throughout the hotel. They could do more to make the spaces feel welcoming and comfortable. A few potted plants, a change of decor or something else might bring some soul into the place. The fire alarm triggered in the morning so a few unlucky people went outside into the cold wearing their pyjamas. Not us. We asked a member of staff in the corridor whether the alarm was for real. He didn't seem too concerned and went back to checking his phone for something or other. We continued packing and left. I don't recall an explanation or apology for the alarm's misfire at reception.
