Been there to catch up with old friend who stayed there. Quite nice building and lovely interior looks like luxurious place but that's NOT. Have seen staff was getting rude with customers couple of times while we were sitting in lounge. Bit noisy so we ended up in friend room. Dirty room with odd smell. It's nothing what he paid for. I didn't feel good so we were outside of hotel and ended up in a bar to talk. Sorry but I'll never stay such kind of place.

I stayed at The Adelphi Hotel because it was named the most haunted hotel in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 This is my review - I ended up arriving an hour before check in but thankfully the man at reception allowed me to check in early, that’s a star! ⭐️ My room was massive the only issue I had was it was abit cold in there but I had the facilities to make a hot drink to warm me up - that’s a star! ⭐️ Is this Hotel haunted? No I walked around the hotel and couldn’t find anything that would make me think this place was haunted - That’s a star ⭐️The bathroom was very dated and water kept coming out the taps all night but they did have a caution sign in the bathroom to take care when standing, 5 Stars 🌟

Room was cold, and wasn’t cleaned once in the 3 days we stayed, had to ask for toilet paper & teabags & even a bath plug. Our bins were completely overflowing. For some reason the toilet/bathroom smelt of urine. Extended my checking on last morning to have a lie in as check out is 10am to be told me and my partner had to go to reception (6 floors from our room) before 10am to show me and my partners id to be able to extend it after this we never got back to sleep and it evaded the whole point! Overpriced for what it is in my opinion wouldn’t complain but £109 a night isn’t justified.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. The most violating experience I have ever had in a hotel - 2 staff members barged into my room at 1am while me and my partner were naked! The entrance is beautiful and 1 man at the front desk was lovely, but that’s the only positive things I can say. The first room we were checked into looked outdated and had no hot water. We were moved to a different room since there was no maintenance man on site at that moment. The second room was slightly bigger but it was so far away and confusing to find, as the signs were wrong. Also, The lift to get there felt like a final destination horror movie and a lawsuit waiting to happen. The worst part is when we were running a bath, 2 men from the front desk came barging into our room when we were naked. The steam from the bathroom had set off the fire alarm (a fire alarm that didn’t make any noise or sound in our bedroom to make us aware of this - another lawsuit waiting to happen). The reasoning we were given is that they do this to catch people who are smoking or doing drugs in the room, so they had to barge in quickly. We felt extremely violated and were treated like criminals. We were very polite but the manager at the front desk was very standoffish and said multiple people had complained about the fire alarm going off and said that technically they should be giving us a fine since we were the ones to set it off! I started to cry at the front desk, as I dreaded to imagine if I was travelling alone as a young woman or how humiliated I would feel if I from a religion that required me to be covered. I didn’t sleep at all that night as I was paranoid that someone would come into the room again while I was sleeping. 1. Why is the fire alarm right next to the bathroom door if it can be easily set off by steam? 2. Why did the fire alarm not make any noise if we genuinely set it off? 3. If this has happened multiple times (as stated by the manager) why isn’t this disclosed when checking in? specifically when we told the staff we wanted a hot shower and was moved to the new room for this reason, surely it would make sense to disclose this information then. 4. Why were we treated like criminals, guilty until proven innocent? If I could go back in time and not stay here, I would. It has left me with an uneasy feeling about staying in any hotels in the future. I understand the cost is cheap to stay in the centre of Liverpool, but you would hope that a basic thing of decency is free.

Hotel is lovely. Rooms are lovely. Staff are lovely. The only problem we had was a smell of urine in the area near the toilets where the reception is. Apart from that rest was lovely and I'll definitely be back!
