An amazing house and beautiful gardens. Amazing marble Chapel. Definitely worth a visit if you are on Bute. The volunteer on the entrance said ' you will go wow when you go into the entrance ' and we did! Was not expecting that. Nice little cafe too and not overly expensive.

Lovely house and gardens on a large estate. Kitchen garden was a very long walk from the house and a bit disappointing. Not well tended, lots of weeds and not much produce planted. Poor signposting also to to the kitchen garden, we had to get directions from a man on a bike ! The rest of the gardens were lovely with some beautiful trees. The house itself is a gem with lots of interesting furniture.

Absolutely fabulous place to visit, both house & gardens are one of the best I've ever visited. I was lucky to visit on a sunny day & saw the red stained glass lantern bathed in red as was the white marble chapel with a red glow, 😍 The stewards were very informative & knowledgeable but I felt at times it was too much to take in. The cafe was excellent, toilet facilities were good & clean. & all staff were very friendly & polite. Would put this on your must visit list.

What a truly magnificent place, full of history, the whole building is built to perfection! The builders then were truly magnificent! Large gardens with an amazing selection of plants and trees. Gift shop on site, cafe on site with large selection of products. Staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable in the history of the whole place. They are extremely approachable, especially when you find something that you would like to know more information about.

Beautiful house with warm and welcoming staff. stunning gardens and ample parking. downside....if disabled buy online as ticket office isn't easily accessible. Beach can be used but again not if you're .not physically able to walk or climb
