Fantastic day out even if it was a little rainy! Definitely recommend the extra tours. The behind the scene's tour was filled with history and a run by a knowledgeable tour guide. We then had a lovely break and enjoyed a cream tea at the on site cafe which was delicious. The best part of the day was the visit to the walled gardens where we met some amazing animals and people. We had the pleasure of being able to cuddle the goats, feed them and even get go take Arlo for a walk who was very well behaved and great company. We would definitely recommend this to anyone, every member of staff was welcoming.

What an amazing day out! Such a beautifully stunning building and grounds. So much history and so many fascinating stories, including the occasional ghost! Can’t believe how many secret doors there were! Our tour guide Andy went above and beyond and really made our day. Thanks so much Andy

We spent a wonderful day at the Castle. Our lady tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour extremely interesting. The gardens are very pretty and the views stunning. We also enjoyed delicious cake and coffee. Would thoroughly recommend this attraction.

We married at this venue and could not have asked for a better experience. Genuinely it was a fairytale using the rose gardens and having access to the majestic castle rooms. We would especially like to thank Chloe and Ella the wedding coordinators. They are very professional and are talented enough to tailor a wedding during restrictions to still make it the most enjoyable day possible. 5 stars is not enough for this place, it will forever remain in our hearts.

Lovely house and gardens. Usually costs £12.95 per adult but as it was Heritage Open day, we went for free but parking was £5, which is normally free. You can spend a whole day there and take a picnic or eat at their cafe. There are large grounds to go for walks and lots to do. As well as the castle there is the lovely gardens and walled garden with various farm animals. Worth a visit.
