The staff were lovely and very friendly. We did enjoy our 3 nights here, the bed was really large and comfortable and the room was very clean. Spa experience was good, had a lovely massage there and that was reasonably priced. There are a few points that reduced the score to a 3: Rooms are in need of a bit of TLC our toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and doors had wear and tear on them. The TV didn't work at all on the first day a maintenance person attended on day 2 and resolved the issue but its fair to say the TV is dated with limited choice of channels. No air con in rooms just 2 fans and the hotel was really warm Service charge automatically applied (that drives me mad, don't need to be prompted to tip if service deserves it) Car parking, book a space in advance and note it is £20 per night, but is well located right behind the hotel The restaurant Breakfast isn't great buffet style and some things were hard or cold Evening dining, delicious food but would say it is overpriced as are the drinks.

My husband and I had an amazing and relaxing time at Roseate Reading. We chose this hotel for a mini honey moon and a much needed spa retreat. The service was perfect, the room was very comfortable, the food was good and the spa team was very kind. Although the spa was small in size, we enjoyed the massages, the steam room, the sauna and the gym. I would love to go back for another mid-week or weekend break.

First time ever having a tasting menu. Enjoyed the vegetarian one a lot! Staff very attentive. Just the right amount of time between courses.

This is a truly fantastic hotel. Very clean, very good food. Although the portion size was too small for me. Be prepared to have at least two courses otherwise you might leave hungry. Apart from that the rooms are simply amazing. It's like having your own posh room.

In general the hotel and staff are very good, nice clean tidy room with roll to bath and shower. The all important air con too. Had drinks in the evening at the bar and knowledgeable staff that can pour a quality drink. Only let down was breakfast, there was plenty there and a good choice just the time to get served and receive what you asked for was rather long, ordered some poached eggs they came out cold, once I got attention this was rectified quickly with hot poached eggs.
