The hotel is beautiful and our room was gorgeous - huge and quiet with lovely views. It's within walking distance to many sites tho I'd caution to take a good look at Google maps (or whatever service you're using) as they seem to enjoy unnecessarily sending you thru a close (alley) with a ton of stairs rather than the sidewalks. Also to note there are a couple of different entrances to the hotel. One of those entrances includes about 4 flights of stairs. The entrance with the elevator is right next door to the stairs but our map app helpfully took us to the stairs instead. There is also a street level entrance to the 4th floor where the lobby and check in desk are located. All staff that we interacted with were amazing, especially Ricardo at the check in desk.

Lovely Hotel. Directly next to Edinburgh train Station, a two minute walk if you come out at the right exit point. The hotel is also sat directly next to the bridge linking the royal mile to princes street so the location is perfect. Will be staying here again. We stayed in a room on the ground floor. if I was staying again I'd want a room higher up, as all the blinds had to be closed so we had privacy from the street

We had a very good stay at this hotel! We had a special request, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of promptly and with a smile. The rooms were simply stunning, with elegant decor and all the amenities we could ask for. It truly felt like a luxurious retreat and the views from our room were breathtaking.

A luxurious place with decent prices. Didn't stay over night, just had a lovely dinner with my family. Can't fault either the food nor the service. Very polite but still down to earth waiter. Tried haggis for the first time here. Was a lot better than I expected. The ribeye steak medium fried was very good.

Excellent location. Leave via the Market Street exit at Waverley station, cross the road and turn left, look out of the black door with a lift to the hotel. Room was excellent size and a beautiful bathroom with a great shower. Book direct. Unfortunately, the staff dropped the ball towards the end of our stay and showed that there are definitely communication issues within the hotel. Our request for afternoon room cleaning was agreed to, but not done. Upon raising the issue in the evening, there was a defensive tone by reception. After explaining that we'd called way before the "deadline", The night team said they'd pass on what had happened. We got a late check out at short notice but that hadn't gotten back to the staff member with a bag for the next guest coming to the room! It had obviously got back to the front desk though to know what to charge us! At checking out and explaining the room issue the next morning, reception weren't aware and didn't seem bothered. We're not one to rant and rave, perhaps we should have done and caused a scene. It's got some great rooms, great location and amenities nearby. If you're leaving the room in the morning to explore, you'll probably be OK. But some of the service encountered did not fit the price point paid and a combination of the issues faced boiled down to poor communication internally.
