Bilbao, Barcelona and now the Big Smoke. Basque- Catalan group Bilbao Berria has opened its third restaurant across two floors on Regent Street. Specialising in pintxos – think tapas on cocktail sticks – it arrives at just the right time to sate the capital’s demand for small plates in a smart setting. Hand-carved jamon ibérico is among the menu highlights. Look out, too, for anything roasted on the charcoal parilla. The wine cellar is well stocked and partially open for guests to peruse, while the lower restaurant room has views onto the open kitchen, imbuing any event with a lively atmosphere. Decor reflects the urban-rustic fusion of the cuisine.
