We read a huge amount of really bad reviews before staying here in January 2024 so we were a little worried that we booked something we could not get a refund for. But honestly - it was totally ok. The hotel is situated at a very excellent location in a beautiful area and it is very quiet at night. Warwick Avenue tube station is so close, like 1 minute walk if you are slow, and it is very beautiful to walk in the area where there are house boats on the canal in Little Venice, nice gardens and lovely houses, and if you want to reach Paddington station it is just 10 minutes away. Do not miss the lovely Prince Alfred Pub around the corner ( You must order the fish and chips!) and the sweet little street with a French bistro, an indian restaurant, a café and a chocolate maker next to it. So cute and nice. Ok, let's talk about the hotel now. It has a beautiful exteria and reception. A decent continental breakfast and a lovely part of the breakfast room has skylight windows but very very cold in the winter if you choose to sit there. The room was nice but tarnished and could really do with some tender love and care but the bed was sooo nice and very clean. The bathroom was very warm and cozy in the winter but the water pressure was bad but at least the water was warm and nice. It was OK...takes a little longer to wash your hair but jeeezzz..you will live and get on with your life. We had to press the handle for flushing the toilet like 6 times before it worked properly but we lived through that aswell. So just be aware that this is an old house with a lot of history and a need for TLC but it is OK. I would come back. Do not miss the cozy The Bridge House pub that has the lovely Canal café theatre on top where we went to see a local play. It is just 8 minutes down the canal from the hotel. Don't worry, have a nice stay.

Thank You, Marjan! This 1865 Victorian charmer has stood the test of time. With detailed, hand-painted flowers, birds and ribbons gracing their halls, antique marble fireplaces, lovely upholstered furnishings, antique plaster molding, all to give you a glimpse of a time of elegance and beauty. This little gem is nestled right around the corner from a magnificent Indian restaurant, but also very near Notting Hill, Abbey Road Studios & the Sherlock Holmes Museum. We stayed here celebrating our 30th and were charmed by the high ceilings, four-post bed w ruffled canopy and the enormous bay window with street views. Although time has taken its toll, as it has on all of us, the location is lovely, the staff is attentive and we were happy we had the chance to stay here. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again.
