Booked one night in a single room without breakfast. Arrived at the Mercure and was greeted by Barry. Probably the best receptionist I have ever come across. He is such a credit to the hotel. Give Barry a raise! lol. I was upgraded to a privilege double room and breakfast was included. The room was lovely. Very spacious bathroom with walk in shower. Toiletries, bath robe and slippers all included with a privilege room. I come to Brighton often and stay at another hotel (similar price) which has really gone downhill. Will definitely be staying here in the future.

As others have said, the staff were incredible! So friendly and welcoming a real asset to the hotel, (which yes, probably is a little tired in places if you are a hotel inspector), but if you’re looking for true Brighton character in an ideal location with amazing seafront views, I’d highly recommend you stay here. We loved it!

My wife and I stayed one night at The Mercure, when we attended a concert in Brighton. Our room was upgraded which was a nice surprise, with the room itself being clean and with all amenities to hand. Perhaps more importantly all the Front of House staff were lovely, and this alone would be reason to return as we have stayed in so many allegedly top hotels where the customer service was non-existent. We would definitely return if we were in the area again. Recommended.

Always enjoy staying at this hotel. Staff are so attentive and helpful. I love the unique decor. Some of the rooms could do with some updating. However always clean and presentable with everything you need to hand. I love waking in the morning and enjoying my breakfast overlooking the sea and watching Brighton come to life on the seafront. I will be staying at this hotel again in the near future.
