I'm a member of the health club and the reason for being a member is to use the pool. The pool has been out of use since before Christmas. Health Club users have been given no compensation for this and people who have not paid their membership fees have been told they owe the money. I have paid my fees for January and February for a service I have not been receiving. I have been a Marriott Health Club member for many years and I am appalled at the way we have been treated. All through November we tolerated building work and even had to change in the public toilets at one point. I understand that when hotel bookings are made, customers are not informed that the pool is closed. I understand that the use of the very pool at the other Marriott pool has been offered. This is not a pool you can swim lengths which is what the majority of club users do and what they pay for. This is supposed to be a first class facility for which members pay a premium price. I feel we have been treated with disdain and the Marriott are in breach of their contract with us. If we are not adequately compensated I am considering the Small Claims Court. I believe we have a water-tight case, pardon the pun.

Under renovation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. Great location. Beautiful building. Only negative was the raw bar burger but quickly resolved by staff.

Really well located in central Bristol. A wide range of attractions are within walking distance of the hotel; theatre, historical sites, pubs and clubs. The hotel itself is adequate and standard as you'd expect from a chain.

The hotel and restaurant/bar staff are great, especially the concierge, James. The location is great, close to so much. If it's a windy time of year, don't stay on the fourth floor, it gets quite noisy and if you're a light sleeper, you probably won't sleep much. While the rooms are clean, housekeeping may or may not do a complete job and may not replace your face cloth or towel.

Great position for the city centre and a short walk to the railway station. Undergoing a refurb when we stayed else it might have got 5 stars. Our refurbished room was lovely, a good size and very comfortable. Also enjoyed having the use of a pool although that definitely needed updating from its Roman styling!!
