About The Crypt And Bar

St George's Bristol, Great George Street, Bristol, BS1 5RR

St George’s Bristol is not only a world class music venue boasting a huge roster of legendary performances, but also plays host to a wide variety of events such as wedding receptions, professional recordings, product launches, parties, awards ceremonies, book talks and performances.

Located in the heart of Bristol, this grand listed building rests in its own beautiful gardens and is a unique venue for both corporate and private events. As a registered charity, the income generated goes directly towards supporting St George’s innovative artistic and education programmes.

The space is extremely popular for our smaller events, networking and receptions, with its vaulted ceilings and bar. Hire of the Crypt can also include use of the Doric and Recording Rooms.

Many clients choose to invite guests to private receptions followed by a classical, jazz, folk or world music concert. Others prefer to hire part of the Crypt and bar for aftershow parties.

Not sure about the music venue but the restaurant is a very enjoyable experience. Lovely setting modern but light and interesting. Food is incredible and affordable. Can't wait to eat there again!

Nice, small but spacious venue for music. Great acoustics and great view from all seats. There is accessibility for those in wheelchairs or with other mobility aids. Facilities are good from the bar and food area to rest rooms. Situated in a beautiful part of Bristol you can plan your day around shopping to going for food before the evenings event. There is not really good parking in the immediate vicinity other than disabled parking. However, there is a good car park not 10 minutes walk away.

A most enjoyable evening with Chris Smither - singing American folk and country. He's a brilliant song writer, and storyteller. St George's is the perfect venue for this style of music.

The theatre is great, but the new cafe is outstanding! We took the family there (some up from London and the others down from Hereford) for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We're all 'foodies' and all left very impressed and satisfied with [especially] the food, which was well priced, the service, new decor, and it's just off Park Street and stones throw from town. Another must visit and a fine addition to Bristol's increasingly outstanding food landscape. We will be back!
