Room was spacious and well appointed. Very little air movement for me a the room got stuffy. It is a bit far out from City center. Rooms were very quiet.

First thing I noticed when I walked in was the gorgeous smell whilst well selected music was playing. I felt everything had attention to detail. Bed was super comfortable and was a stunning room! The pool room was nice, however if I'm being fussy, the lighting was very harsh and could have done with lighting a lot softer, especially for an evening swim. Lastly, during the early hours from about midnight to 3am , there was horrendous banging and noise outside of room window, I've never heard noise like it, especially at such a time, It seemed like a film crew was packing up (no fault of the hotels) but still, made for a really unpleasant experience. I can imagine this massively hinders the hotels income if this happens frequently. Overall I loved my experience and would recommend, however, admittedly I probably wouldn't stay again just because of the unbearable noise and afraid of it happening again (again no fault of the hotel), but they seriously should look into this given it probably woke the whole hotel up and made for an uncomfortable sleep. It will just put people off all together which is a shame given how beautiful the hotel is. One more thing to add, given it's a 5 star hotel , the staff really need to up their standards (they should make this a priority!!!!) , upon departure a chap with glasses and grey hair terrible people skills and felt very awkward, and his attire was to be desired.

For a hotel that appears to specialise in Weddings, the service we received was far from it. Our initial interaction with the hotel was incredible as the Director of Housekeeping showed us around and helped display to us how perfect the hotel could be for our Wedding night / mini moon. However, once we had decided to stay here the process became quite stressful. Upon initial booking, we were told a specific room could not be guaranteed without any further explanation (until we followed up further), we were told we could not check in early (even though email correspondence was suggesting otherwise) and room service was not explained to us properly / we could not order in advance and as a result, missed out on breakfast on the morning after the Wedding. In terms of additional services available to make a Wedding stay more comfortable, these were not initially offered to us until I enquired further and even then, our requests were not always fulfilled as the option for Champagne on arrival did not happen. We also paid for the exclusively yours room rate which appeared to add nothing to our stay. Throughout the booking process, they forgot on multiple occasions it was our Wedding stay (which explain quite a lot) but in all made us feel quite uneasy at what to expect. I was always led to believe that customer service, especially on your Wedding night, would be second to none but it felt as if it could have been any standard work trip for all of the service we did receive. Unfortunately, it did not feel like we had just got married by staying here and we were definitely not treated as a VIP guest which we were assured we would be. It was not all bad though as the room was tidy (although there were drainage problems with the toilet), the bed was comfortable and the space itself was a good size to relax in. The spa treatments we ordered to our room were really lovely, the breakfast was delicious when we had it and the front desk were always friendly. This hotel clearly has potential but maybe a few lessons need to be learnt on what it means to give great customer service. In all of the stress planning a Wedding entails, I would not recommend this hotel for the occasion.

Very disappointed on my second visit to this hotel. I was given a basement room with a view of a wall and a dumpster. Freezing cold with the heating set to 16°C and not easily coming on at night. Shower and toilet drains not working well which was disgusting. Overall I would say this would be okay for £100 in a Travelodge but not for a “5 star hotel” often charging above £400 per night. Being a Marriott elite member also gets you very little as the staff tried charging me for a late checkout. A lady from housekeeping came knocking on my door in the morning multiple times (!) to ask if I was checking out which was bizarre. I do like the area of the hotel and liked the room I was given on my first visit many years ago. However the current situation here is such that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
