Had our wedding ceremony here and this was the only wedding vendor we'd picked that had let us down. As many have said, the venue itself is beautiful, but there are important restrictions which make it unsuitable for weddings, and these restrictions will not be mentioned at all until you have booked and paid them. By then, it will of course be far too late for you to change anything. eg. You cannot throw confetti at the entrance under any circumstances (because of "littering", we were told. Not quite sure why that's an issue given that a quick sweep with a broom would have solved the issue). So if you want confetti thrown it has to be done indoors, but then they require it to be biodegradable, which is all fair except this wasn't mentioned until the month before the wedding, and we'd already bought confetti we really liked but happened to be non-biodegradable so we could not use it at all. Venue's wedding planner was adamant that the confetti restrictions had been mentioned prior to booking but could not provide any evidence of having done so. On the actual wedding day, a really ugly "Toilet" sign that looked like something straight out a Windows 95 PowerPoint slide was placed next to the lovely spiral staircase, ruining the look for photo ops (I guess anyone could have simply moved it but wedding guests are seldom so brazen as to be moving venue signs on their own). Finally, BEWARE OF NOT GETTING YOUR DAMAGE DEPOSIT BACK. We had no issues during the wedding and the wedding planner for this venue said they would pay us the damage deposit back. All seemed to be running as normal but 4 months after the wedding, still no deposit received. I had to chase them for them to sort it out. I wonder what would have happened if I had forgotten about the deposit? They would have just pocketed the £1,000 deposit, I suppose. Not professional! All in all, an average experience here mainly because of the experience with the venue's wedding planner and hence 2 stars.

Nice place. Never go inside but I've stolen lead off the roof a few times. Good money for it if you know how to shift it. And I've got my contacts

Lovely floor for dancing. One room big enough for a small Milonga

Beautiful Georgian townhouse just off the picturesque square. It provides an excellent venue for small to medium conferences. Air conditioning appreciated on a hot day, but toilets might need a bit of attention. No lift, and not suitable for disabled guests.
