Look, if you need a good pub you’re looking for good vibes, decent food and reasonable prices. The Ladywell tav does all of that and as a bonus, the staff aren’t totally weirdos. When I went in they had a guitar guy what was actually good. That is rare. Whoever runs the place knows how important it is to make sure their guitar guy doesn’t sound like a dying puffin. Would recommend.

Cracking Sunday lunch - Joe and the team really looked after us. Excellent beef and roast chicken and wholesome desserts. Good wine recommendation too. Kids loved the games in the garden.

Terrible food was cold not even warm gravy like water had to send back. Next one was warm and gravy lumpy. Absolutely terrible. Normally we have great food . But unfortunately has put us off going back. Very disappointed we had to wait for an hour for our food. We had 2 kids meals and they was terrible. Hardly any veg. We all had Sunday roast. If you can call it that....

I booked a table for 4 on Sunday at 5pm, hoping to have a nice roast. Once we got there we were told the kitchen had already closed as they had run out of roasts. That was really disappointing, as our friends had travelled across London to meet us there to eat. I believe they should have tried to contact me/email me to let me know this piece of information, as we would have gone elsewhere. It was nice of them to say that we could order any takeaway from nearby restaurants and eat it there, but I still consider it poor organisation and poor customer service to not warn me in advance.

My partner and I have been more or less regulars here for a couple of years now however the service we just received was atrocious. On arrival the member of staff asked if I intended to order food. I confirmed that yes we did wish to. She subsequently confirmed that the kitchen would only take orders from reservations today. I then asked if I could just book a table on the spot and whether if I would then be able to food. The response 'Well you could do technically but...'. I subsequently asked (and was completely polite throughout this exchange) if this would be a problem to which I was told 'well the kitchen is under pressure so we are only taking orders from reservations'. I then asked 'so can I book a table or not?' By this point the staff member had opened the side door to allow our pushchair in and she repeated her 'well we are only taking food orders from reservations so...' and was asked if I understood. I said that I didn't understand why that being the case, I couldnt just book a table. We then left. I can understand if the kitchen didn't wish to take more orders I would have accepted this happily rather than comment that I could order a table but infer to me (very brusquely and dismissively) that you didn't really want our custom. An absurd and amateur attempt at customer service. We won't be back for a while unfortunately.
