My experience at this hotel was outstanding from the very first moment I stepped in with my family. It was a planned vacation with our kids and grandma. We loved every single detail of the rooms, beds were so comfortable, bathroom had all we needed. Housekeeping did an amazing job every day they cleaned the rooms. Front desk was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was amazingly good and yummy. Restaurant staff was super polite and offered us an excellent service. I loved this hotel, I loved London. I loved all about it. I can’t wait to be back!!

For the price, the rooms were small, well decorated but aging, and the room service was lacking. One of the times we requested service, it never came. Concierge service provider as only useful for airport pickup and drop off. They were not useful for dinner reservations or pickup/drop off services to local attractions. I enjoyed the breakfast, but admit that I relished the convenience of not leaving the hotel to find food. If you are up and about, I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere for breakfast. Wonderful service in the restaurant, but absolutely basic food. I should mention that this hotel may have the best location in the city for sightseeing. That is the major redeeming quality, and why I don’t feel like I overpaid by much.

Advertized as a 5 star hotel, this place has its ups and downs. The location is great, of course. As a minus, one cannot arrive here with a taxi, only nearby as there is no driving on the square. Our room was smaller than i thought it would be, and a bit dimly lit with one small window. Colours are a bit drab - grey carpet, furniture that aims for the Edwardian look but seems a bit basic. Plenty of outlets, handy switch to set the room up for cleaning or to decline it. Very little information provided in the room - menus and such are mostly present as QR-codes. First morning we thought we would sleep in, but were woken by a piercing fire drill alarm. Wifi works fine. Water pressure is good. Shower was in the tub, which i didn't particularily like. Toiletries provided were basic, but ok. Air conditioning works, but has an audible mechanical sound. Our room was next to the cleaners supply room, which meant that we heard some talking and foot traffic behind our door constantly. Cleaning is thorough and very good. Towels are top-notch. There is a small fridge, typical of all hotels. The nespresso machine in the room works great. We asked if only one of us (2 people in the same room) could purchase the breakfast, this was not possible, both would have needed to purchase it (unless i misunderstood). Did not make use of the concierge service so can't comment on the usefullness of that. On our last evening we inquired if we could purchase a few extension hours to our stay so we could wait for our flight in the room - no, it was not possible to know if a 2 hour extension is available until the morning of the checkout day, making any planning ahead impossible. Checkout is at 11 am. All in all good, but for the price i *sort of* expected a bit more grandeur combined with modernity. Of course i appreciate the history and age of the building. Edit: as i was writing this, the 90 decibel fire alarm went off again. Twice. So i guess we'll head out to see if we're being evacuated.

Disappointing experience! Not very clean. During our stay in December last year, the room appeared cozy and small, which was acceptable. However, the cleanliness fell short of expectations. Upon accidentally dropping something under the bed, I discovered used paper, a shopping bag, lots of dust, and garbage, as shown on the first video. After reporting the issue at the front desk, a cleaner attended while we were out, and we were assured the problem was resolved. To our dismay, upon returning to the room, all the rubbish remained. The cleaner's manager, unfriendly, suggested the cleaner had completed her job and directed us back to the front desk. Seeking a resolution, I requested a new room at the reception. Although one wasn't provided, they undertook to clean the room themselves. The outcome was an absence of garbage under the bed, but the room reeked as if an entire bottle of air freshener had been emptied, making it uncomfortable. If this was the condition of my room, I shudder to think about the state of others. While the remaining services were acceptable, nothing stood out.
