Wonderful family meal at Gaucho. Friendly and professional service from the meet and greet at the door right through to our goodbyes. Delicious starters, mains and desserts.

We were here just before Christmas for my birthday. Had a fantastic steak on the recommendation of our waiter. They even made me a Mudslide cocktail. Loved the decor and the ambience of the restaurant. We shall be back when next in Edinburgh.

Food (5/5) The fillet tail was amazing—very tender with no connective tissues. Probably the best steak I’ve had in a long while! I also liked the variety of choices there. Service (4.5/5) They brought out all the different cuts of beef on a platter to explain their differences, which was very nice and helpful. The service was also very fast (when it comes to taking your order, getting food out on your table, and noticing that you’re done. However, it did slow down a bit after the main course, and I had to wait a while for the waiter to come take my dessert order and for the dessert to come out. Environment: Very cool layout and decor. Nice bathrooms too—I cannot express how much I appreciated the foot-operated door opener attachment, being someone with ocd.
