Pynes House is the perfect location for an exclusive, country house wedding. Set it in its own 37 acre park in the gorgeous Exe Valley, but only three miles from all the convenience of Exeter. Believed to be the inspiration for Barton Park in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, Pynes House is now inspiring couples for their perfect wedding day.
With a number of magnificent State rooms and capacity to seat 90 in the elegant Ballroom for a sit down meal or many more for a marquee wedding in the beautiful grounds, Pynes House makes the ideal year-round private retreat. During the summer, make the most of our manicured lawns, ornamental terraces and pretty woodland, and in the winter enjoy the cosy romance of our beautiful interiors, stunning views and open log fires.
Luxurious accommodation is available in 12 individually styled bedroom suites so couples and their guests can make it a wedding weekend, rather than just one day.

December 2021We couldn’t ever imagine a more perfect venue for our wedding in October 2018. Upon our first visit to Pynes house, we rounded the corner making our way down their iconic drive and we knew then and there, this was the place! Beyond being an absolutely gorgeous setting for our big day, the whole team (special shout out to Kate and Jo) ensured the day was absolutely perfect! We could sit back and live in the moment, knowing that the day would run smoothly with our dream team working hard behind the scenes. We used the ballroom for our ceremony, the rose garden for our reception and had a marquee in the field out back for the reception! We loved that we had exclusive hire of the l venue for the whole weekend, meaning we didn’t have to rush setting up or taking things down. We look forward to returning for a future anniversary celebration with friends and our growing family!
