One of the most exotically beautiful buildings in the British Isles, the Royal Pavilion is the magnificent former seaside residence of King George IV. Decorated in the elaborate Chinese taste, with a dramatic Indian exterior, this Regency party palace was built by a King who wanted to impress.
The lavish interiors and grand scale are testament to this. The State Rooms available for hire include the opulent Banqueting room, including gold dragon chandelier, and the stunning Music Room, designed to look like the inside of a Chinese lady's jewellery box.
We also have George IV's surprisingly beautiful Great Kitchen available, where the King himself was rumored to eat Christmas lunch. Or if you require something a little smaller we have three more intimate, but just as richly decorated rooms to choose from that are not open to the public.
We work closely with several approved caterers (list below), who are very familiar with the venue, and can also provide recommendations for quality AV suppliers, entertainment, florists and photographers. Classical string trios, harpists and jazz bands work very well in the venue, and we have hosted traditional Regency dance classes for some events which proved very popular.

As a venue for your event, the Royal Pavilion is a truly unique and historic setting like no other.
The Music Room at the Royal Pavilion was one of Geroge IV's favorite rooms, built to indulge his burning passion for music, many of the greatest musicians of the time performed here. This incredibly opulent space was designed to look like the inside of a Chinese lady's jewellery box, with gold and jewel tones glittering off of every surface.
This large open space is incredibly useful for conferences and awards ceremonies as well as concerts and lectures. We can also hold drinks receptions in this space, provided all liquids served are clear to protect the historic carpet.
Please do note this space is only available for evening hire as it is open to the public during the day. We are also limited when it comes to catering in this space and are only able to offer drinks due to the historic carpet.

May 2025We took the tunnels tour here on a Saturday morning with Andrew as our guide. It was absolutely incredible, so fascinating. As a Brighton resident who has toured the pavilion many a time, this was all completely new to me and my teens. Andrew brought the history to life and we really enjoyed going behind the scenes into the secret tunnels, under the gardens, down the servant stairs. The whole thing was brilliant. Well worth the £15 it cost as an annual pass holder - highly recommend seeing it this way.

June 2025What an incredible building. I've been before, but it never stops amazing me. Something you don't normally get it a place like this that I really enjoyed is, in the music room, and a couple of the others, there are places to sit so you can relax and take in the room. Staff were really approachable and friendly. At £19 (2025) for an adult, which includes return over the year, it's a bargin.

June 2025Beautiful on the outside and absolutely breathtaking on the inside. Stunning patterns everywhere - the walls, the floors, and the ceilings. Could look at them for hours and keep discovering new details. You definitely won't regret visiting! The staff is super friendly and is happy to answer all your questions 🩷 Audio guide is available too, but I'd say there is plenty of info on the display boards.

June 2025WOW!!! The outside is fantastic and over the top, the interiors are that and then some - sumptuous, gawdy, luxurious almost tacky! But so worth seeing. An adult ticket is about £20 but allows unlimited re entry for 12 months, excellent value. There is so much to see and it's nice making use of the occasional seats to sit and take in the intricate detail of the decor. Lots of info boards and there is an attendant (for want of a better word) in every room who are welcoming and knowledgeable. There's an interesting gift shop too with usual and not so usual souvenirs and gifts. The coffee shop is worth a visit too, sit outside in the shadow of the Chinese gate and eat delicious Chocolate and Beetroot Fudge Cake!

June 2025A beautiful place filled with history, gorgeous gardens and amazing staff. We took a tour and was pleasantly surprised, the architecture was stunning, clean toilets, clean rooms, just a lovely place to visit overall. Parking in brighton is torture so i would recommend parking by the beachfront and walking if possible!
