We went during the half term as saw a post about workshops in He Queens house and at the Learning lab in the museum. It was well staffed with guides to let you know where and how to get around which was really helpful as the workshops were going on for a limited time between 11am-1pm or 11am-2pm. It was a rainy day so it was good to be indoors for most of it however when the rain stopped we enjoyed our lunch outside and the children had some fun and play at The Cove (open till 5:45pm). We didn’t venture to the planetarium but will try and visit that another day. There’s so much activities to do for one day it’s a great day out for the family (and you don’t have to be interested in the subject to enjoy it).

Beautifully set. Plenty of things to see for adults and children. Entrance is free ! The replicas of the ships are simply awe inspiring. They have also picture galleries for photographs of the earth and cosmos. Very easy to spend hours here. They have play areas for kids too. Visit visit visit !

Really interesting museum. The Astronomy Photography Exhibition was amazing. The Nelson room was interesting with simulated screen in how the battle of Trafalgar and Battle of Nile was won. Another room which told the story of Columbus. Need to go back again as it was too much to digest in one day!!! And it’s free. 👍

What a gem! Fantastic museum for adults and children. Don't think it is really much advertised because there is so much to do already in London but it has a very rich and exquisite collection of marine items, historic pieces and facts. There is all about the English maritime history but also a lot about the geographic and naval exploration on a global level and of course everything is FREE! Nice restaurant and bar inside and outside on top of a lovely well maintained playground where kids can have a lot of fun! Will come back!

Great museum, fully informative about the naval history of UK, from early piracy to colonization, trades and WW1. Big bonus, Horatio Nelson’s coat from Trafalgar battleship! In addition, absolutely must see exhibition of astronomy photographers. Thumbs up for Chris and his very interactive and fun presentation, if you get the chance, join his talk.
