We have just enjoyed an EXCELLENT meal at Crowne Plaza’s Royal Terrace Edinburgh hotel. Delicious smoked salmon for me with divine, juicy capers and all the trimmings. And for him, scrumptious haddock in batter with chips, tartare sauce and mushy peas. Yum! All washed down with a Crabbie’s alcoholic ginger beer and Edinburgh Gin raspberry liqueur. The staff are amazing - and have been working incredibly hard to get the hotel ready. It’s peaceful, pleasant, relaxed, welcoming - thank you Crowne Plaza! xxx

Nice quiet hotel, staff friendly and made you welcome. Location not very central and on street parking is expensive

the hotel looks nice however the fans on the ceiling were discoloured which made it look dirty.

Would NEVER stay here again or recommend this place to anyone, while I can appreciate what I was told by the reception staff that they had no prior complaints of this nature, I honestly would not expect any other kind of reply. I had been bitten no less than 142 times and feasted on by BED BUGS, not pleasant, this has been medically documented. The bed sheets in the morning had lots of little blood trails on them. A lot of people may possibly not say anything, because it does leave you feeling degraded and somewhat unclean, but bed bugs DO NOT just disappear by themselves, which is why I find it hard to believe, that with this level of infestation, that it has not been reported before. I was told that I would not be charged for the last of my two night stay, (so, 50% off, so generous, NOT) as they assumed this only happened on the second night. It happened BOTH nights, but after the 1st night, I had assumed that I must have been bitten around my ankles by the dreaded Scottish midges when I had been out the evening before, but it was a lot worse the 2nd night, the bites were right up my legs, round my waist and on my torso and I had not been out the previous evening, also with the blood trails on the sheets, it was obvious that it was not the doings of the Scottish midges. Both nights appeared on my company's credit statement and contrary to the lies I've been told on the phone that it would be refunded, more than a month down the line, that hasn't transpired. So, for this hotel, it was my first and most certainly my last visit and I most certainly will not recommend this place to anyone when their management are obviously turning a blind eye to such a serious issue. I have supplied details with photographic proof along with medical references to our Advocates to deal with as anything that they could offer me now, is a little too late.
