A long-established ethical organisation headquartered in this 1920's Art-Deco-ish building promoting and hosting lectures, talks, exhibitions, workshops, live music and a library. The renowned 'Sunday Concert' music recitals are varied, unfussy and set in a hall with surprisingly excellent acoustics. An exemplar - here there's much to admire and absorb.GOOGLE REVIEW

A little tatty and old fashioned but thank goodness places like this still exist to serve the community and offer a good value place to host events.GOOGLE REVIEW

A strangely old fashioned building reminiscent of parish halls in the provinces. It is much larger than that though. It is run by the south place ethical society and provides a venue for all sorts of groups of people to hold meetings, conferences etc also big enough for dancing. Different room sizes are available and there is a larger hall with a gallery. There is a great library on the first floor which is open to the public on certain weekdays but not at the weekend covering subjects such as. economic politics philosophy etcGOOGLE REVIEW

I love the Sunday concerts at this uniquely old-fashioned place. However the heating is very inadequate in cold weather. It was zero degrees outside and the radiators upstairs (at least) weren't even switched on. Some people sat with their gloves and woolly hats on and/or scarves around their faces.GOOGLE REVIEW
