Hotel needs decorated fully. Rooms small for a double room. No headboard on the bed the walls all marked with people's heads. Bedding just a very thin quilt just goes over the sides and no more, 2 pillows for2 people. Bathroom terrible edging broken off the shelf screws in the shelf rusty., shower curtain no screen. Rooms don't get cleaned daily after 3 nights bins had not been emptied no clean towels. .. £420 for 3 nights bed only two people. Furniture in room all very old fabric chair all marked. They take stag and hen parties very noisy. Dark brown carpets covered in food horrible.

Love this hotel. People slate it but we've never had a bad experience and we stay regularly. It is beautiful inside. The ceilings in the halls on first floor are amazing. Yes it's old and the rooms could do with new carpet and a fresh lick of paint but it's a listed building and rules apply as to what you can do. It is too pricey and I honestly don't think it's worth the price on weekends especially. We wait until the price drops to stay there. Britannia need to reassess their prices.

Always a great stay. Excellent customer service from all the staff. Large clean rooms and a fabulous location, close to Lime Street Station and the centre of Liverpool. The hotel has so much history which is worth reading about. Don't check out without wandering the floors and looking around! Breakfast is an added bonus 😊

I enjoyed my stay here. Dated but a lot of character, needs a coat of paint. Room was clean heated and water pressure great. Staff lovely and room facilities were good. Food good and room right at front of hotel so didn't miss out on the buzz if Liverpool's nightlife but didn't interfere with my sleep 😴.

Public areas are impressive at first glance but the whole building is run down and shoddy. Arrived with coach party. Reception was chaotic. Room was dirty, needed redecorating. Stains in sink and bath, plaster peeling, dirty sofa. Woodwork old and scratched. Draw front falling off. Towels and sheets were clean. Dinner was OK, breakfast good. Rose wine tasted funny and was sent back. Hotel had little atmosphere, it was sad and truly beyond help.
