I had a great time staying at selinas for work purposes. The staff are great, it’s a lovely building right in the centre of Liverpool and stations, beds are comfy, free welcome drink and a large spacious area to work if you need it. Ticks all the boxes for an easy quick and comfortable stay.

I was coming to Liverpool to see the death cult at the Mountford hall. I decided to stop over as I didn’t want to travel home late at night . I found this hotel on booking .com, now the hotels in Liverpool always seem so expensive and I wasn’t prepared to upwards of £120 for a room but the Selina do “dormitories” this is something I had never tried before but for £36 I thought it was worth a punt ? Well I would defiantly use again I had a cracking nights sleep although with 7 strangers, they are mixed dormitories which didn’t bother me but might worry you ? Not much room but was fine for me as I just wanted to lay my head down for the night . Very very clean shared en suite bathroom loverly restaurant to have your breakfast (£13) but had a wrist band when I checked in which gave me 15% off plus a voucher for a free bottle of beer at this time they couldn’t offer evening meal as they had no chief. Highly recommended and would use again if in Liverpool it’s even cheaper if you bed down in a room with 12 people 24 hour multi story car park right opposite for £5 per 24 hours (see separate review)

The rooms are beautiful, make you feel at home. We had better treatment here than me ever had at higher end hotels (Hilton, Raddison etc) there’s toothpaste & brushes robs if needed, coffee machine with coffee choices. There’s no tv but the record player makes up for that. Location was perfect, The service was great always helping but there was a shortage on staff which meant we couldn’t have the offers they had such as 2-1 cocktails. We also got woken up with very loud construction but obviously not their fault can’t be helped but would definitely be returning

Good location on a quiet street just around the corner from the more busy once. Nice staff. Negative part: very small rooms, and not as fresh as the picture tells you. Bit rund down.

I am honestly conflicted about writing this review. I stayed with friends for an over night trip and had a perfectly acceptable night- the rooms were clean, beds were comfy, fab location, not much sound proofing though- you can hear everything in the rooms next to you! Unfortunately the elevator broke down during our stay which was inconvenient for the member of our group with mobility issues but I know technical issues can't be helped. I will add that the elevator looked extremely small and I'm not sure how easy it would be to fit some wheelchairs / wheelchair and carer inside so keep that in mind. On our train ride home I received an email from a member of staff asking if I had left my purse behind (red leather Michael Kors*) It had my student ID inside and an old key card so it was easily identifiable as mine. I said yes it was and I'd be happy to pay postage costs to have it back and sent over my address, the member of staff said they would send it on the next working day. A couple of days later I emailed to ask if it had been posted and was told yes. That was almost 3 weeks ago. I emailed at the start of this week asking if it had been posted again and had no response. I am now wondering if someone has decided to pocket it for themselves, which to be quite honest is funny- it was a fake from Turkey 🤣 with no cash or cards in it. If I could afford a real MK purse I wouldn't stay in a hostel! If you want the purse fine, I would just like my student ID back please!
