Barbecoa, Christmas At Barbecoa
20 New Change Passage, London, EC4M 9AG -

400 standing
Applying international cooking methods to British meats is the name of the game at Jamie Oliver's Barbecoa. In the One New Change complex behind St Paul's Cathedral, this sprawling steakhouse can host big events around an open kitchen that showcases an eclectic collection of barbecue hardware (robatas, Argentinean grills, wood-fired ovens, Texas pit smokers – they're all here). As well as offering set menus to show what all of this kit can do, the venue claims to house London's largest whisky collection. There's even a sommelier to guide groups through it. Smaller parties should look at the 40-capacity private dining room, which can be opened out to accommodate 60.

Applying international cooking methods to British meats is the name of the game at Jamie Oliver's Barbecoa. In the One New Change complex behind St Paul's Cathedral, this sprawling steakhouse likes to show off its barbecue hardware at Christmas (robatas, Argentinean grills, wood-fired ovens, Texas pit smokers – they're all here). Three- and four-course set and sharing menus are offered to groups of 12 and up. Sample menus include cedar plank-smoked duck or dill- and coal-cured salmon, followed by low and slow lamb shoulder or chateaubriand. For canapés and drinks receptions, sample items include mini cups of fragrant seasonal risotto, caponata and basil bruschetta, and Jamie's chocolate brownie.
