About French Salon

Brook Street, London, W1K 4HR

Claridge’s is an art-deco hotel in the centre of Mayfair, famous for providing timeless glamour for its guests. Afternoon tea is served in the Foyer and Reading Room, and food is on offer all day in the Foyer. Aulis, a chef’s table within the kitchen at Simon Rogan’s Michelin-starred restaurant Fera, is suited to smaller parties. For vintage champagnes and rare spirits, the Claridge’s Bar is the place to be, and later in the night one can retire to the Fumoir. The recently refurbished event spaces are suitable for a variety of events, from board meetings to A-list parties, and include the lavish 1930s Ballroom, French Salon and private meeting rooms.

With original features such as art deco ironwork tassels by Basil Ionides and winged Renaissance-style cherubs over the doors, the French Salon is an elegant and atmospheric room in which to hold a business or social event. It also features a striking mural of a dancing couple, uncovered when the room was last refurbished. The French Salon can be taken in conjunction with the connecting Drawing Room, to accommodate a greater number of guests.

Visited Foyer for afternoon tea. Quite cozy, still very much classy. Not like other Foyers in 5 star hotels in London, they had ups and downs. But I assure you here you would find the very best tea experience. Perhaps I would have to admit I was lucky to have such exceptional server for us, could be different in every case like other services, I even feel like to have time to send compliment letter for her only if I know how. Other than that, their clotted cream is by far the world best, jellies and scones were very nice as well. Other dishes were moderate, especially the sandwich was almost wet. Place was little crowded.

This is my all time favourite hotel. I'm lucky enough to have stayed a few times and I just can't get enough. The history of the building and the current service and facilities make it my No 1 See you again soon. I hope 😁

We went here for my mom's birthday in September and it was well worth it. The afternoon tea was beautiful, with and assortment of delicate sandwiches and cakes (they even made gluten free options for me!) that were perfectly matched with a variety of teas. Service was flawless, staff knowledgeable, and the ambience lovely. Would come back again.

My first experience for afternoon tea. I went with my mom and aunt, as a treat to them and myself. We all absolutely loved the experience!! The service was excellent, they put us in the best table near the piano, the food was fantastic. We all loved the scones!!! I’d definitely recommend it and i’d definitely go again. The price i believe is very reasonable for what you get. It was a treat for all senses, and you are truly transported for 2 hours you are there. They asked if we wanted more sandwiches or desserts, or if we wanted to take some desserts home. Thank you to everyone for making it a lovely experience that none of us will forget. I will definitely be back whenever i want a treat! Thank you

We stayed at Claridge’s for a night and it was a marvellous experience. The hotel is gorgeous although a bit old fashioned and our room was pretty big, well appointed with a large bathroom. We had afternoon tea which was delicious and very filling. There is a well appointed gym at the hotel with staff on hand to help. There’s no pool at the moment but they are building one which is due to open at the end of 2019.
