Flora Indica is a unique and stylish restaurant and lounge bar in the heart of Kensington and Chelsea, close to Earl's court tube. The eclectic decor pays homage to Scottish botanists who travelled throughout India in Queen Victoria's reign cataloguing its exotic flora and fauna. There is a funky mix of Harris tweed, steampunk and warm teak. The menu is not what you have come to expect from Indian food, instead the food is light dishes of delicately-spiced ingredients.

In keeping with the botanical theme, gin is the house speciality, although there is a full cocktail bar alongside an extensive wine and champagne list. There is even a dedicated Flora Indica beer crafted exclusively for the restaurant by the Portobello Brewery.

The lower ground floor restaurant can be booked exclusively for corporate events, birthday parties, Christmas parties or any sort of celebration that you can think of. The space can seat up to 60 guests on tables of approximately 6 people.

Should you wish to have a completely private event, you can book both the restaurant and ground floor lounge bar to give you a pre/post dinner space for canapes and cocktails.

Hiya folks! It’s your silly American here! I just have to say this spot was INCREDIBLE. It was probably our favorite place we dined at. Not only was every bite a delight, the service was lovely. Our waiter was friendly and visited us a couple of times to check in. In Europe in general, wait staff takes their time so don’t go in expecting American service and don’t be a jerk. A woman next to us was extremely rude and didn’t want to pay her service fee. Read up on some European etiquette, chill out, and enjoy your food! The atmosphere is chic and gorgeous. It can be a pretty romantic spot so take your honey and enjoy.

Fabulous date night treat - the quirky historical references through the decor and extensive gin menu ensured our night was off to a great start then the food blew us away, sharing five small dishes and one main and one dessert. Good value for such a high quality restaurant.

Wonderful tasting food and excellent service. We had all vegetarian options. The Kurmure Okra fries were perfectly spiced and would highly recommend. The Papdi Chaat was terrific I really liked the addition of crispy artichoke. The only reason why this is not 5 star is the paneer starter and the paneer main although currently described differently are identical, same sauce, same paneer texture and cooked in the same way, just presented differently. For the main you get 2 pieces of paneer and for the starter you only get 1. As we were sharing we got both paneer dishes and it was really disappointing that this was near identical. For sides the poppy seed and red Leicester cheese naan is a must try, it worked really well with the black lentil and kidney bean makhani. We had mocktails which were a good portion, tasted lovely and refreshing. I recommend and would go.
