On a smart thoroughfare, just off Regent Street, Patara Oxford Circus is a convenient stop-off point for pre-theatre dinners, or indeed for any group on a jaunt up the West End. With five sister restaurants around town, and farther-flung siblings in Geneva, Vienna and beyond, the Patara template is a successful one. In contemporary surrounds, subtly enhanced by some Eastern flourishes, it offers a refined take on Thai cuisine that cater specifically to gentler Western palates. The main space is available for private hire and, downstairs, so too is the cocktail bar, where staff turn out fusion signatures such as the Thai Mojito or Hendrick’s Sour (garnished with coriander).
