With 11 restaurants around the world, the Patara mini-chain has built a reputation for delivering modern Thai food in smart surrounds. Its South Kensington outpost is very much on brand. Close to SW7’s museum quarter, this was London’s maiden Patara, first opening its doors in 1990. Since then, the kitchen has continued to refine the nation’s famously spicy cuisine for occidental, employing only chefs who have trained on the ground in Thailand.
