Japanese ramen merchant Yamagoya has long been a fixture of London’s pop-up scene, but this is the first permanent site for the outfit. The stripped-back interior compliments the quick and casual service which sees diners order from a counter. Snacks include a seaweed and edamame salad, and chicken karaage with yuzu mayo. Yamagoya’s signature ramens are also present, with toppings featuring the likes of pork belly, marinated bamboo shoot, wood-ear mushroom and marinated egg. Cold varieties cooked in cold water are available too, topped with either chicken or tofu. Come dessert, there’s the Instagram-friendly raindrop cake (which is completely clear and shaped like a water droplet), while drinks are covered via a selection of house wines, beers and saké. For diners in a rush, Yamagoya offers a short takeaway menu, which includes Japanese-style sandwiches filled with chicken katsu and chicken chashu.

This restaurant is counter-service. Too bad that is not clear when you enter. Little thing to improve though, a sign would do just fine. The meal was excellent. The prices they charge are absolutely great, having a meal and share a side for less then 25 pound for 2 people is just amazing for London. Could find any fault in the meal. The ramen were perfect. Katsu chicken was spicy but not too much for my taste. I really did enjoy my meal

I ate ramen of “lunch specials.” You can get it during the day on weekdays. It was crowded and I had to wait about 20 minutes for my ramen, but it met my expectations.

The place looks very simple but nice and stylish, quite small but turnover is pretty fast. They function as a food court in a way eg you place an order at the bar and get a buzzer thing that notifies you when the order is ready. We got 2 different ramens (specialty one and another one with beef) - the noodles were cooked well but the broth was very salty! Also, watch out for the weather cuz they have an automatic door that reacts to literally any movement.. we ended up sitting with our coats on as the cold air constantly flew in through an opened door

Almost perfect experience. Got Chashu Ramen and Chicken Karaage. Both of them are great value. Ramen is tasty and quite japanese. But have to say although chicken karaage is crispy, it is tasteless. Unfortunately, the yuzu mayo isn't a good choice for the chicken. The staffs there were great and warm. Will try again.
