Found just at the corner of Elgin Avenue and Lanark Road The Elgin is a 50-yard walk from Maida Vale tube station and 10 minutes from Paddington. There’s been a pub on this site for decades and at The Elgin we are proud to carry on the tradition of providing the best food, drink and service the area has to offer.

Over the last few years The Elgin has become one of the area’s leading destinations for birthday parties, engagement parties, corporate dos and wonderful wedding receptions.

As you enter the venue and take the stairs to the private first floor bar you are greeted with a unique and individual space packed full of character and local charm with exposed brick walls and ceiling high bay windows. Although the room has a great feel for it there is still scope for you to add your own individual personality to it with extra decorative touches.
With space for up to 80 people seated or 100 standing this private room can host a range of different party types for all occasions.

If, however, you want something just that bit bigger you could take over the whole venue and have space for over 230 people standing. Whether it’s your company Christmas do, a summer party or the wedding of the year, you can choose to use the venue however works best for you. Split the bar into dining upstairs and dancing downstairs or just keep the party going with a late-night extension to 2am and a DJ of your choice.

If you’re having a seated meal then our 3-course family-style feasting menu is the perfect way to enjoy a sociable meal where everybody gets to taste a little of everything. Or if you prefer to keep it more casual then our sharing boards of hearty finger foods, including Spiced Crab Toasts, Cheeseburger Sliders & Mini Chocolate Brownies are all perfect for easy eating with no cutlery required and we have a good selection of vegan and gluten free options too.

Take over the whole venue and have space for over 230 people standing and upto 80 guests seated for a meal on our first floor. Whether it’s your company Christmas do, a summer party or the wedding of the year, you can choose to use the venue however works best for you. 🚇Maida Vale 🍺 £5.90 Elgin Lager ❤️ A superb local hangout. The Elgin is located at the end of a tall Victorian terrace in the heart of Maida Vale. Getting here is easy, Maida Vale Tube Station is located diagonally across the road. The Lord Elgin as it was once known was built in 1869. In 2013 the pub looking tired and forlorn was given a new lease of life by Urban Leisure Group. The metro tiled servery dominates the bar and runs down the left hand side. Opposite the servery are several poser tables and stools. At the far end of the bar is some comfy low level seating, a projector screen and a random elephant adorning the wall. By the entrance are some beautiful Victorian glazed tiles which sit above Georgian panels and a nice big cosy sofa. Upstairs is a dining/function room which is available for hire. The beer line up was impressive, there are ten London based draught craft beers and ciders to choose from, plus plenty of bottles in the fridge. I decided on a pint of the house lager, my pint was excellent and price point average. There is a seasonal food menu available consisting of elevated gastropub style dishes. The roasts on a Sunday are well celebrated, a Chicken Roast costs £19.50. We arrived just after 6pm on a Saturday evening, on arrival the place was fairly busy with a local crowd in attendance. Not long after we settled in, things got very busy. There was a lively upbeat buzzy atmosphere emanating from the early evening punters. The service was excellent, the staff here were super friendly and clearly enjoyed what they do. Throughout the month there are Live Music and Comedy Nights, if fancy testing your general knowledge there is a Pub Quiz on Tuesdays. We really enjoyed our time here, @the_elgin_maidavale was a pleasant surprise. This is a fantastic hybrid establishment that has a bit of something for everyone. The beer was great and reasonably priced, the food looked amazing and is popular with the punters plus there is plenty to keep you entertained. Pub traditionalist will probably give this one a swerve, but I would definitely recommend a visit here. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 16.09.23

I hosted my 30th birthday party at the Elgin and couldn’t recommend it enough. We had a truly brilliant evening. The food and drinks were seriously delicious and the staff could not have been more accommodating for us. The upstairs space where we had the party is really beautiful and I can see how perfectly it would work for wedding receptions too. Communication with the venue about various requests ahead of the evening was also answered promptly and helpfully. We received brilliant feedback from all our guests and would definitely come back for another event here, or just to enjoy the pub on a normal day!

Staff is attentive, and food is delicious. Baked goods and breads come from a local bake shop. Loads of vegan and vegetarian options. I had farm fresh eggs on a large piece of sourdough toast, fantastic! Loads of coffee and tea options.

We hired the top floor of The Elgin for our Wedding Reception recently and were absolutely amazed with the service received. The whole team behind the scenes were incredible at communicating with as ahead of the big day to ensure that everything was as we wanted. They answered all of our questions very quickly and decorated the space beautifully. On the day the food was absolutely brilliant - all of our guests commented on how delicious it was. We had around 30 guests for the reception and 30 more joined for the evening. The space was perfect for this amount of people. The team were so accommodating and made our day incredibly special. Thank you to all at The Elgin!

Yeast free menu... Humus and sour dough bread was tasty. But it is small portion. Chips are also good.
