Lovely gallery with a small kids section. They give out free rucksack as well for the young ones. How much you like it is down to your taste in art. Beautiful building in and out. Well worth a visit

Really nice art gallery with a really great selection of artwork. The rotating exhibitions are mostly always excellent with a really great mix of modern and classical artworks. The vibe of the place is really relaxed and the staff are always welcoming and helpful. Nice café as well.

I have marked this gallery down a little. The art is typical of a premier gallery with some very nice pieces. The gallery itself, despite a makeover, has poor lighting with lists of reflections and poor positions. Definitely go, support the gallery, but perhaps considered in them some feedback of your own so they can improve. There was no cafe when we visited but there is a souvenir shop which is nice.

First impressions last.. as we walked into the main entrance we where met by the most cheerful person ever... who gave us all the information with regards the art and also directions externally to our final destination that was only a few steps away. The cafe area was spotless and hassle free... a massive pot of tea for 2 for £4 that made up 4 and a bit cuppas we where made up. Well worth a visit allow a few hours to get around as lots to see.

It was brilliant. They gave you a free map when you entered and you were allowed to move across the gallery in your own time, at whatever pace you wanted. They had interactive rooms where you could watch videos, or use your phone to access things online (for example in the mindfulness room). The gallery wasn't that busy when I was there which made it lovely to look at the artwork. From what I could see, children were given a special backpack to enjoy the gallery which included some binoculars.
