The Deaf Institute is an independent fun loving bar & venue, spread across 3 floors, with 3 bars, a kitchen & a roof terrace.

Housed in a historic Manchester building originally built in 1878 as The Deaf Institute, the building was derelict when we first got our hands on it 6 years ago, and we have refurbished it back to something we hope approaches its original glory. Located just off the bustling Oxford Road, we are based in the heart of the Manchester Metropolitan University Campus.

Open from 4pm daily serving high quality food, coffee, craft beers, hand pulled ales & frozen cocktails, to a rock n’ roll soundtrack. With large sharing tables, comfy booths, or smaller tables, an outside terrace, & DJs on a Friday & Saturday night. Individual tables or areas can be reserved, no matter what the occasion.

The ground floor is available to hire during the day, 7 days a week for Corporate events, meetings, receptions, workshops & film shoots. We can provide you with a dedicated event manager, DJs, food & drinks packages, projector and DVD facilities.
