Large, clean, comfortable and modern rooms. Great beds. Nice bathrooms. Excellent hot tub and steam in the basement spa area. Gym is a little basic but does at a push. Friendly staff. Was great value at last minute. it’s a short walk to town but quite a dead street which might not be pleasant for all to walk down at night.

Rooms are lovely and spacious. Great lighting in the bathroom for make up. Easy to park. Facilities are great. Shame they didn’t keep on top of the corridors from other guests leaving room service mess outside their room

Stayed here for a conference held in the same hotel. Pros: - Hotel was close to railway station (about 10 mins walk) so going on day trips from newcastle was convenient. - Staff were excellent - friendly with big smiles from the first till the last day! - Bathroom was spacious, good water pressure and very hot which I liked! - Breakfast buffet was not extravagant, but enough options to keep us interested. The made-to-order hot meal options were thoughtful. Cons: - Instructions for amenities could have been clearer. Was wondering where the toothbrushes / slippers were until I finally called concierge and got those from them - The gym was small and the equipment was dated, but since quayside was so close I ran outside anyway.

As a Platinum member of IHG I was upgraded, and with my lounge pass was able to make use of the lounge on the club floor (6). Sally who served me on my first night was really friendly, knowledgeable and it was evident through my two-three hours in the lounge that a lot of people were returning patrons, given everyone seemed to know her! A couple of photos of the lounge are in the review which is nice enough and has good amenities, although some of the other lounges I've stayed elsewhere in the world have different options and toilets etc, but it was still nice. The room was a good size with a good walk-in shower, and the TV great for accessing apps like YouTube etc. Perhaps a small gripe but on my second night I could hear the couple next door chatting, not what I would expect and as they had just returned at 11pm at night as it did disturb me as I was about to sleep. Location is good, 7-8 minutes walk from station/centre of city, if not a bit dark. I would stay again, however, given the service in the lounge and reception was great, and the rooms nice.

Very clean rooms, staff very attentive. Had issue with A/C and was resolved straight away. Was given another upgraded room. Breakfast excellent.Great location for station and easy walking distance into town or river walkway. Recommended. Reception manager Alex was especially helpful.
