Very disappointed with the hotel. Poor service at reception. 1 bar staff on in a very busy bar. Gave up and stayed in my room. Room was very hot. Lamp on desk didnt work. Poor manager who didn't answer my query. I was a regular guest but will be staying elsewhere now.

Room very warm and no way to cool it down, except from opening a window onto a building site. Room very dusty too, with small bits of rubbish from last occupant in 3 or 4 places. Wet room style shower made whole bathroom floor soaking, so you couldn't go for a pee after without getting your socks wet. Very few power sockets, and no full room lighting. All low powered wall or ceiling lights, in main room and bathroom. Door jammed in frame

Absolutely spot on customer service. Couldn't fault any part of the night. Our hotel was double booked so we rocked up here last minute and despite the hotel being sold out, they kindly offered to clean one of the other rooms and let us stay the night. We even got a massively discounted rate. The staff go above and beyond what is necessary to ensure you are served well! The room was modern and luxurious with a nice and comfy king size bed. There was no loud noise overnight and the hotel's location overlooking the river and quayside is lush. We also enjoyed the added advantage that it was close to the Riverside music venue just a 5 minute walk away. Will most definitely be considering this as my first option of where to stay in Newcastle in future.

Come here fairly regularly. The staff are generally simply lovely, but I cannot understand much of what the fella at reception says - except 'fantastic' which he replies to everything, even me telling him my name! The service in the restaurant was rubbish on this occasion. We would have liked a second course or a cup of tea, but once the main course had been dumped on our table, we received no attention whatsoever. We didn't even get a bill. We had to try to pay at the bar, which was difficult and we still don't know what we paid for, as the promised itemized receipt never materialised. We finally just wandered off, stunned by the ineptitude displayed.

Nice hotel. Good location. Very clean. Room airless and hot, but hotel can't help the weather. My big problem is with customer service. Possibly the worst, and proudest check in I've ever encountered. A cheeky, arrogant person. For two pins I would have declined check in except I would have been charged. All the staff are sadly lacking in any form of training. Very disturbing if this is the way our hotel and hospitality industry is headed.
