Lovely 3 night stay in a very good room ( 007 ). Great facilities including pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Food was good. The conference facility looks very smart and inside the hotel was immaculate. Staff were helpful throughout.

Opened in 1966, this hotel was probably refurbished (bathrooms, furniture etc) around 20 years ago looking at the fixtures and fittings. Clean and tidy, comfortable beds, good showers, but noise levels are above average compared to a modern building. Windows seals were leaking air and noise from outside, and phone conversations could be heard from neighbouring rooms. Food was not great in the restaurant (Sunday evening), so we ate in the Falcon's Nest nearby for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was OK, but overpriced. Staff were friendly and professional.

The lobby, conference suite and bar area are good. These have been updated more recently than the rooms. This hotel used to be a Marriott and the rooms feel exactly like a 80/90s Marriott. Prices reflect that. Getting a happy temperature was a challenge with the noisy AC. No plug sockets by the bed (just lighting circuit ones). Room was superficially clean but very dirty on closer inspection. Shower was decent and there was a bath if you want. Bathroom was quite clean but some of the plastic fittings were broken. Question marks over H&S compliance. PAT testing last completed 2018. (Now March 2024) Lots of parking but car park did get full.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The beds are like ironing boards. The windows are single pane aluminium framed so may as well not be there. The room was draughty and noisy. The cleaners are loud and have music on full blast, slamming doors at 7am. The receptionist is a miserable fart. This hotel is in desperate need of an overhaul.

A good price and location, but room in need of a refurbishment. The extractor fan in the bathroom clearly wasn't working as so much condensation had caused the plywood door to the room to rot, dropping paint flakes on the floor, and us, every time we went in. The bedroom window was single glazed, again more condensation, resulting in unsightly mould around the frame and unable to see out due to the steamed up glass. We paid the night before for breakfast, but due to staffing issues only a small selection of food was available. No offer of a partial discount on check out. You get what you pay for.
