Nice and cozy small restaurant with really good food. I had the risotto with butternut squash. And soup of the day potato and leek soup. Tasted so good! There was a 10% service charge on the bill. I have seen several restaurants do that here in edinburgh.. however I don't like it.

Best meal I have had in a long time and by far the best meal I have had in Scotland! I had the beet appetizer, catch of the day salmon with gnocchi, and topped it off with the sticky toffee pudding. The beets were very tasty and had a unique pairing of spices and tangy sauce with whipped feta. Very tasty! The salmon melted in my mouth and the gnocchi was the perfect match. Very savory and buttery with incredible mushrooms as well. The sticky toffee pudding was unreal. So tasty and delicious. Couldn’t be more happy with my meal and the service was excellent! Fast service and friendly staff and very welcoming atmosphere.

Fabulous time at Howies. The staff were ALL amazing. Super friendly and assisted us with all our questions (we needed advice about local tourist attractions and they helped us immensely). The food superb, especially desserts. It is a must visit on Victoria Street

A centrally-located Scottish restaurant with nice decors and banoffee pies! The food tasted good and is representative of Scottish food. The service was excellent and the restaurant was clean. We paid £28 per person. Would recommend booking 1-2 days in advance as they did not accept walk-ins.
