Absolutely wonderful service for afternoon tea, thank you Maria! I am newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and the staff and chef could not have been more thoughtful or generous, I had extra sandwiches instead of cake, fresh fruit and a wonderful cold coffee drink. It has been terrific from the way we were greeted on arrival to the table service - thank you! It's also very comfy and unrushed, a great place for tea!

Convenient location and good service makes this a sensible choice of you want to be Central to things. Breakfast is ridiculously expensive in our humble opinion. With so many other options for breakfast shop elsewhere. The old holding cells for the Magistrates Court sport some big names ex guests and bar is fun place to hangout. With considering on London trips.

Nice enough place. The breakfast is good, though I'd prefer the eggs be cooked a bit more. The bathroom tub is small, and the bathroom floor inevitably gets very wet when using the shower. The attached Indian restaurant is above average.

Great location in London. Large room with large bed, desk, armchair, dressing table, large dresser with large TV. Elegant bath. We were concerned with the negative reviews before we arrived. We were delighted to see our room. A little dated but elegant and comfortable. As noted by others, the safe battery was low and there was a little peeling paint in the bathroom. But who cares? (Peeling paint was only above water faucets suggesting a connection to water hardness?) Easily twice the size of our last hotel room in London. A very good value for central London.

If this wouldn't call itself a 5 star hotel I would have given more stars. The building is historically interesting, the restaurant beautifully decorated and bar quite unusual with its former courthouse cells converted to little sitting rooms. Staff is also friendly, but nothing else reminds you of a five star hotel. It lacks the detail orientation and customer service necessary for that. The room seemed dated and in need of small fixes. The cover for the electrical plug was missing in the bathroom and the bathroom shelves hung crooked from the wall. The mini bar is the most uninspired and sad one I have ever seen and upon arrival there was no in-room-dining menu in he room. Even so they serve 24hour room service no drinks will be delivered to the room after 11pm. I used the hotel hair dryer and not only did it seem the oldest and dirtiest one I have ever found in a hotel drawer, it also stopped working after 3 minutes and wouldn't start again. It would have been an okay stay if one wouldn't expect much more from a 5 star hotel. Also the pool area smelled moldy and the sauna was broken.
