Had a delightful lunch there. Awesome staff, went out of their way to keep everyone happy. Sat outside and enjoyed the sun while eating delicious chips with truffle mayonnaise, cesar's salad and tasty tomatoes from Isle of Wight.

It's a really nice place to spend some time. Food is creative pub grub. Definitely recommend the chorizo scotch egg. Service was very good. Good selection of ales and all the other usual suspects. Something for everyone. Very dog friendly.

This is a splendid place to stop for a bite to eat, or a drink. An historic building that played a major part in the history of the area; it has been very sensitively restored. There are lots of interesting facts, pictures, drawings that adorn the walls and these help to provide some continuity with its heritage. The seats and tables all offer a sense of comfort and charm, whilst still maintaining a sense of hygiene. It might be thought that the smaller rooms would make it feel a bit cramped, but I felt that it was more cosy, with a sense of privacy. They offer some very interesting local ales, as well as a few more modern drinks. The food is superb, with a pretty good range to choose from. It's just a few steps from the car park under the shopping area, and the walkway in front of the building also helps to provide a slightly older style ambiance in keeping with the overall affect. I noticed that they are sympathetic to dogs and young children.

Drinks are quite expensive, other than that it's nice.

Was sat outside and asked to use the app. 20 minutes+ went by and after the payee received a conformation from her bank. NOTHING.....no drinks at all. My brother went to see what had happened. He came out with a staff member. He told us that the app had not sent a drinks order to them, so it must have been the payees fault. She showed him her banks email. He then left saying that he would not serve us now, as WE had been rude to HIM! I was also cited in this, which was incredible, as I had not said a word. Another member of staff arrived to take the order. They did not even have one beer that the app said they had! An example of: You just can't get the staff nowadays!'
