Welcome to Stradey Castle, a uniquely beautiful and secluded Grade 2* heritage home situated on the Carmarthenshire coastline overlooking the sea to Gower. Our wedding reception venue is available for exclusive hire to engaged couples that are looking for a celebration which is unique and tailor-made for them.
When you arrive at Stradey for your wedding reception you will have private use of the castle's formal reception rooms as well as the terrace garden which surrounds it. There are unrivalled opportunities for wedding photographs at the Castle, in the woodland gardens and around the lake. The magnificent staircase within the great hall of the Castle offers a spectacular entrance for the newly-wed bride and groom and the setting is perfect for a champagne reception. After drinks and canapes you are invited to move into the marquee close by for the wedding breakfast. Our marquee site is designed to cater for structures measuring up to 30' X 80' in size and can seat up to 120 people. One of our recommended marquee suppliers will be able to help you choose a marquee design that is perfect for your needs.
Our catering partners Strawberry Shortcake Dining are specialists in marquee catering and will share with you their passion for high quality ingredients sourced from farms on the Stradey Estate and the surrounding area. They employ a team of highly professional waitresses and their food and service is exemplary.
Couples that book at the Castle will have the option to stay in our newly redecorated Blue Room. The immensely comfortable Tester bed dates from 1850, when Stradey was built. We have also recently refurbished the en suite bathroom in the brial suite, complete with a cast iron roll top bath. We reccommend your guests stay with our accommodation partners at the 4 Star Stradey Park Hotel, or at a choice of other hotels all within a short distance. The railway station is under 2 miles away.
We believe that we have something very special here to share, and see ourselves as a 'qualilty' venue rather than one interested in 'quantity'. We will take care of all the practicalities of the wedding in the days before and afterwards and - of course - on the day itself, leaving you to focus on one another and your guests.

April 2019A very interesting tour led by the owners followed by a lovely tea. Would thoroughly recommend. Worth an annual visit as renovations are ongoing and more of the castle may be available to view. Do not miss the thrilling climb to the tower or the descent into the dark depths of the (dry) moat.
