Ibis Hotel Edinburgh Centre South Bridge, Dining Room

I stayed here for 4 nights with my son while we explored Edinburgh. The reception staff were welcoming and our room was ready when we arrived. The room was comfortable. The hotel was a 20 minute walk from the castle, 5 minutes from the National Museum and the Royal Mile and 10 minutes from the train station. Breakfast was buffet style and although busy we always managed to get a table, the bar and restaurant staff were attentive and welcoming, the food was lovely in the restaurant during an evening but there are plenty of restaurants close by you are spoilt for choice. I would happily recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Excellent location! There was only one plug outlet in the room, located by the window with no mirror close so getting ready and caring about your appearance wasn't easy. The bathroom was clearly a portable pod set into the room, very tight! Little counter space. Again, not the best for ladies. Beds were a step up from the floor, VERY hard! Temp was adjustable inside room so that was nice. Also, key required to access rooms so that's nice. I'd recommend for location but if staying with my daughter again I would not choose this hotel. Just not easy for ladies.

Myself and wife made our trip to Edinburgh last weekend and the Ibis got us off to a flyer. We arrived after a long journey from London to find a lovely girl at reception who gave us a warm welcome. She kindly upgraded us having known in advance that the trip to Edinburgh was my wife’s 30th gift from me. She informed us that everything in the room was complementary and that we had a couple of drink tokens too. We arrived to our room and found the place decorated with 30 banners, chocolate and all the classic Scottish assortments. The hospitality we were given was extraordinary and we couldn’t be more thankful and grateful. Definitely booking with Ibis again 👍🏻
