This five-star hotel on Russell Square is one of this year’s most anticipated openings: the Grade II-listed Kimpton Fitzroy London is making its event spaces available from May.

Key to that offer will be the original Ballroom, carefully restored to its full splendour. Downstairs, eight function rooms will benefit from the Kimpton Fitzroy's Company’s Smart Space service, which should help energise your group with nutritionist-designed menus and tech solutions.

The original ballroom at Kimpton Fitzroy London was restored to its original splendor. Today the grand event space, which has a private entrance on Bernard Street, boasts original architectural details, a full wall of windows, and a mezzanine gallery.

We were a family of four with two adults and two teenagers. We had a Queen Essential Room and we booked a Queen Park View and were upgraded to a King Suite. The Queen Essential was small but very well appointed with a nice bathroom and snacks and waters provided in the room. The King Suite was amazing with great views of Russell Square. Our stay came with breakfast. The breakfast buffet was very good and always fresh and we liked that we could order off of the menu as well. Everyone that worked there was extremely nice and accommodating. The hotel was in a great location, just steps from the underground and lots of restaurants and grocery stores. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again.

This is the first time we stayed in this hotel after reading very positive reviews. We were extremely impressed. The reception staff ver very friendly. The porter and the bar staff equally committed to delivering a great service. Common areas and rooms were of high standards and of a premium feel.. We are very happy with our first experience and would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is unforgettably amazing! You are greeted by very friendly doormen as soon as you arrive and taken to the friendly front desk agents. The check in was quick but personable. We were then met by Angela who walked us to our room and made us feel so welcomed. She wanted to make our stay special and she definitely went above and beyond with this! The concierge staff are great. We had the help of Marco and he ensured we were taken care of and had a lot of great recommendations. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a lot of great options. The design of the hotel is one of the nicest I've ever seen, very luxurious! The gym is large and has a lot of machines and space. The bedrooms are great, amazing shower and the beds super comfortable. We are already planning our next stay and highly recommend it to anyone going to London!

We stayed this week for 5 days. Definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed at. Incredible service, kind and respectful staff, great concierge and front desk was also very nice. Very central location- easily walkable to the British Museum and a 30 second walk to the Russel Square station- so you can get to anywhere in London in minutes. We got overcharged for our room, that is the only reason I am giving 4 stars rather than 5. I removed one star because the first night, they put us on the bottom floor and there was a dinner party in the ballroom going to 12am. The music was so loud from the ballroom that our hotel room was vibrating (literally). We already paid $35 pound extra for the “upgraded” room and had to switch to a smaller room to which we never got refunded. This was a bizarre experience. That being said, it doesn’t take away from the fact that this was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. They switched our rooms, and although we paid a bit more than usual, it was clean, great location, and overall I would stay here again without hesitation.

The building is stunning as well as a lot of the interior from the cocktail bar to the coffee shop. They went to extra trouble to give us some wine and a desert to share for our anniversary. Also the petals on the bed were a nice touch. The staff at the reception were pleasant as was guest services. Unfortunately it’s a little all show and no substance. Our room looked nice but the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The shower door opens outwards which means you can’t lay a towel to put your feet on as it pushes out of the way when the door is opened. The toilet is in a tiny space and the toilet paper almost at floor level. Another issue for us was the foot wear of many of the staff (bell hops and doormen). Fine to wear trainers as I imagine they are on their feet a lot but bright white ones? They looked so at odds with uniforms and really brought the tone of the place down. The doormen were very casual too and just didn’t make you feel like you were going into a nice establishment.
